You do know that you are refering to Wikipedia right? But I did hear something on that somewhere from another more reliable source. Maybe i'll track it down....

What about the original Mario Party? And how did this not make it's way to the clearly visible MARIO PARTY boards on top.

Moved to this board.

It would be nice to see it on the VC, but there is no need for me to purchase it, unless if it has aditional features, which is unlikely.

I would get just for the fact that I would love to have it on the wii. If Mario Party 2 is coming out in Japan does that mean the original is already out there and that we might be getting it?

no, i dont know why it is only MP2, (MP3 was the best mario party overall in my opinion.

And gosh cookie boy. how rude. my feelings are hurt.  :D

@Daisy255: yes

I'm guessing it's because Mario Party 2 was able to generate more sales in the past and therefore thought the same will happen again

Title: Mario Party 2 Coming To Wii's Virtual Console

Before you all get excited and such, this is coming for those in Europe in December 2010.

Quote from: Virtual Console Nintendo Life
Virtual Console still twitching

It's very rare to get any kind of heads-up for what's coming to Virtual Console, but this release schedule from Nintendo's Netherlands office contains a few surprising treats for the year ahead.

N64 party game Mario Party 2 is set to launch in December, just in time for the party season, with Super Bonk for Super NES landing on Virtual Console in December too.

Regrettably only two other titles make the list: Neo Geo basketballer Street Hoop in October and Hudson Soft's NES side-scroller Faxanadu arrives in November.

Although only four games feature on the list, several more games have been rated for distribution across Europe, so the remainder of the year may not be quite as lean as first thought.

Why it is coming out before the first Mario Party is beyond me. I could only think that it may be the issue that in Mario Party, there are some mini-games where you would rotate the control stick with the palm of your hand...

I heard about this on Super Mario Wiki along with Super Mario Land for 3DS Virtual Console.
As to your question, I think it might be because MP2 might be a better game then MP1, but I've never really played Mario Party 1 before, just every other Mario Party game.

That makes no sense, "IT'S BETTER SO WE'LL PUT IT ON LLOLLLOLOLOLOLOOL". I think VIP's reason makes sense, it could be they didn't want to release it do to those rotating mini-games.

That's a good point, but I don't think you should waste your money/Wii Points/space for another copy of the same game, unless it has extra features, which is very unlikely.

I have Mario Party 2 both on my Nintendo 64 and PSP. There is no need for me to spend money on a Wii Points card and obtain it on the Virtual Console on Nintendo Wii. But it would be nice if Nintendo decided to release the original three Mario Parties to North America.

Wow, Japan gets it before Europe. It still makes sense why the second Mario Party is being released before the 1st.

I hope North America gets it (and Australia), but we have no word of those yet.

Get in the festive spirit

Europe is set to receive Mario Party 2 on Christmas Eve but North American Wii owners can sneak in there just a little quicker, as the game is released in the Wii Shop Channel on Monday December 20th.

The official Nintendo America Twitter spread the good news today, making the decision of whether to grab a new Wii Points card this weekend just a little easier.

Will you be hosting your own Mario Party on Monday?

Source (http://vc.nintendolife.com/news/2010/12/put_your_mario_party_hats_on_this_monday_north_america)

North America gets to sneak in before Europe gets it. Monday, December 20, 2010 is the release date for the VC.

I'm gonna get this on VC. Even though I own the N64 version, it's much easier, to me, to use the classic controller to play than using that crappy N64 joystick that's so worn out.

I got this and played a round. I did the cowboy level, with enemies on easy but if I didn't add on Bonus stars at the end, I would've lost :P

This is a very decent game because I like the older mini-games best.

Ok, good. I was just wondering since I have a turbo controller and I'll probably need to use it to beat Handcar Havoc. Otherwise, I'd be stuck on the mini-game coaster forever.(I've only tried Mario Party 2 like once a long time ago, but I have seen videos)

Yeah, but for me, when I need to repedeatly press the A button, my fingers go on the B,A and X button and I'll probably hit the brakes by mistake, then my team will probably lose. I also use the turbo when I play Gondola Glide on Mario Party 6. For Mecha-Marathon, do you just need to press the A button or both A and B?
