I'll take that new 3DS for sure.
Though I wish it came with Pokémon Yellow myself rather than just Red and Blue... or at least had a yellow cover plate. =3

It's delightful to see that they will be distributing so many of the mythical Pokémon. I can't wait to finally get a Mew, Jirachi, Meloetta, and Darkrai. Pokémon has been going on for so long now and I'm happy to see how it has changed throughout the years. It has had a good twenty years and it's interesting to see how they are going to celebrate it.

I'm thinking about getting a Pokemon game in April (hopefully Pokemon Z if it's out).  In which case I'll be able to get most of the Mythical pokemon. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get Mew, which would be really cool to have.

You can, actually. If you go to GameStop for a serial code for Mew, you can use the code. The good news about the code is that it will not expire until the end of May 2016. So you still have a chance. If you say you're planning to get a Pokemon game in April, this would mean you will totally miss out on Celebi. You will have a chance at Jirachi in April, if you get the game before April 24, in which the distribution for Jirachi ends.

It doesn't expire until May? Nice. I don't really care that much for Celebi and I know that I can get Jirachi.

Now I just wonder how will it be obtainable? We have at least 11 Pokemon events, make it 12 if we include the potential Volcanion. So, will it be saved for next year? Will it be obtainable in-game in a new game?

Also, type guesses... I'm guessing Fairy/Steel.

Maybe it will be a Legendary Trio.

Diance being the Rock one
This being the Steel one
and other one being the Ice one

The Regis could represent the Men from the Ages while the "Diancies" could represent the Women from such Ages

Now that you mention it, 6th gen is missing a legendary trio other than the main one. So it would make sense to have one, based around Diancies, or princesses. Also, Kalos is known for its fashion, so like having three Princesses would fit pretty well. I mean, Princesses always want to dress well right? Lol, could be possible.

So with the reveal of a new pokemon what does that mean with the next installment? Are we still going to get the 3rd game of Generation VI (Pokemon Z) or are they just going to jump to Gen 7?

While we do not know for sure, it could mean either. I suspect a third game of VI could be coming, it is not new that a brand-new Pokémon gets revealed before a third game or even a new generation.

I thought that you didn't care for Pokemon. It's great that you've decided to join in on the celebration! (I already tried to convince Bowser498.)
The first game that I played was Y, but I recommend Sapphire because from what I've seen it has more content. (Like Secret bases.)

NOTE: I actually have vague memories of me as a little kid on a DS trying to figure out how to play Pokemon Pearl, if that counts as the first game I played, LOL.

I'd say go for Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. The dexnav is a very useful tool for obtaining hidden abilities and other useful things. There's also features like Super Secret Bases, I enjoy those. Pokémon Contests return, they are an interesting kind of competition, no online for them unfortunately. Exclusive mega evolutions, moves, and forms that can't be found in X or Y, I hate how that means interactivity between the games are limited as a result.

Most features from X and Y return for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire so there isn't much reason to get X and Y. The biggest downside of ORAS is the lack of character customization which was something I really liked in X and Y, There wasn't too many options though. X and Y does offer a region unlike any other in the series. It has slightly more story than Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire if you're into that.

Like most people said, go for Pokemon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. You have access to a bunch of legendaries, the dexnav, access to every Mega Pokemon too and some other features that were already mentioned before. It's a great game and even still today I play it from time to time to train some Pokemon.  Also, it's the first game since Platinum I completed my Pokedex. It might seem like a lot, but it's easily done with patience.

The Mythical Pokémon Mew was first available at GameStop stores in February. If you weren't able to make it to GameStop in time, you'll have another chance to receive Mew when the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter arrives in your inbox in June. It's the same Pokémon that was given out at GameStop, so if you received that one, you won't be able to get another one.

If you're not already receiving the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter, be sure to sign up for it by June 1, 2016, to receive the next newsletter containing a code for Mew. Be sure to enter the code into your Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, or Pokémon Y game by August 31, 2016.

The Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter is full of Pokémon news, promotions, and information to keep you up-to-date in the world of Pokémon. Plus, the newsletter is free—just create a Pokémon Trainer Club account and opt in to receiving it.

Don't miss this second chance to get the Mythical Pokémon Mew. And be sure to visit Pokemon.com/20 for more details on the Pokémon 20th celebration.

Manaphy is pretty nice. I'll be sure to receive it when I play Alpha Sapphire later today. I've been wanting to finish breeding Petilil that I started a few months ago but stopped doing. I've have Phione but not Manaphy, it'll be nice to have. Would've been great if it was given as an egg like it was back in Diamond and Pearl, it had a unique egg design.

I'm glad I'll finally be able to get a Meloetta. I've been waiting ever since it was known that they will be distributing it in December. Jirachi, Darkrai, and Meloetta were the ones I wanted the most. The Arceus is a nice bonus. It'll be nice to transfer them to Pokémon Moon when Pokémon Bank is usable for Sun and Moon.
