Title: Games you wish had a reboot/remaster/sequel/remake?
Post by: Colyton on June 23, 2015, 07:15:31 PM
Are there any games you wish would get either a remake, reboot, HD remaster or a sequel? And what are the reasons why? It seems to be pretty popular these days. We've had a whole lot of these the past years and I think it just won't stop now.

Now some games I would love to see get one of these are as follow:

Donkey Kong 64:
I think if there is one game I really want to get remade is this one. It had an amazing soundtrack and some of the sickest worlds. To me, it was like the ultimate Donkey Kong adventure and none of the new DK games have really topped it. It's still great to play the game, today in 2015, though, the graphics are kinda dated now. It would be awesome to see this remade with upgraded graphics, controls and perhaps new content like they did for Super Mario 64 and Diddy Kong Racing. I don't really care if it's on 3DS or Wii U, seeing this remade would make me go, kinda nuts. A sequel would be just as great.

Prince Of Persia:
Enough of Assassin's Creed now Ubisoft, I think the Prince Of Persia series deserves something more now, a new breath of fresh air. The last games were good and fun to play. I would love to see more from those or just something completely new. I don't really mind. On the other side, a remake of the original Sands Of Time trilogy wouldn't be a bad idea, at all.

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl:
Will happen eventually. Enough said.

Super Mario Sunshine:
A sequel or remake I'll be fine. As long as it's not Galaxy 3, highly dislike the Galaxy series.

I wish to see another Punch Out sequel. I love the ones for NES, SNES, and Wii. The latest one was around 2007, fairly old now. The latest game used mostly characters from the NES game along with a couple Super Punch Out ones and two new ones. I'd like to see them include mostly Super Punch Out characters in a sequel with some of the best NES one such as Glass Joe, though if Gabby Jay returns he wouldn't be necessary. Of course new ones should be introduced as well.

I agree Super Mario Sunshine deserves something. I'd prefer a sequel as I don't care much for remakes though there's some exceptions. More than a graphical update would be nice.

Super Mario 64 Sequel, Super Mario Sunshine 2, an AWESOME MP11, Mario Sports game...
I would think another F-Zero game---Nintendo probably forgot about it. :/

Super Paper Mario sequel.

That's about it, really.

I really want a sequel to Sleeping Dogs. It's actually a reboot of the True Crime series, which were GTA like games where you played as a detective. Problem was the True Crime games were really restrictive on how you played, and you'd be punished for doing things you could get away with in GTA. Also they were really glitchy and poorly made.

Sleeping Dogs is much more lenient on that so now you can throw random pedestrians into your truck and drive around the city without being punished. I really liked it and I hope they make a sequel to it.

Armed & Dangerous.

When I saw this topic I nigh-instantly though "Giants: Citizen Kabuto" but then I remembered First Wonder.

Super Mario 64 and Sunshine both need proper sequels.

F-Zero also needs another game, I've been waiting for so long...

I really want a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing that's actually good.

It's an impossible nerd fantasy but considering Square Enix announced Final Fantasy 7 i guess no nerd fantasy is impossible

I don't want a sequel to 64/Sunshine/Galaxy. I want Nintendo to try something new with the franchise. That's really what the Mario series has been missing since Galaxy came out: originality. Everything feels like a sequel to something already made.

I actually really want this to happen. The original one was great to play. I know I had way more fun playing Diddy Kong Racing than playing Mario Kart 64 back in the days.

Chrono Trigger. I know the the DS port is a thing, but it only adds one more ending, and I don't consider Chrono Cross a sequel.

Oh, and Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie The Game for Gamecube/PS2/Xbox needs a remake. That game was good for what it is.

Remake-wise, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. After Triple Deluxe, I would like to see a 3DS remake.
Sequel-wise, Super Mario 3D Land 2. With 3D World-esque level design.

I would really like to see a sequel/reboot to Goldeneye 007. Almost 18 years later and the game still holds up. IMO that's the game that standardized the FPS genre as a whole.

Also a remastered Halo Reach would be the coolest thing ever.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. A remake of this game, for 3DS, would be highly appreciated. Though, there's Paper Jam coming, so I don't expect it to happen any time soon.

True---maybe a sequel to that with similar characters like Cackletta. That would obviously have to be after Paper Jam though. :P

Not as good as Battle for Bikini Bottom.

The Wii version doesn't count?
There's also goldeneye source but that hasn't had a proper dev update in a few years tho they are intending to move from sdk 2007 to 2013

I like to pretend the wii version doesn't exist TBH. As for the SDK, I don't think that really counts, considering its not a sequel/reboot/remaster.

I think Super Mario Sunshine could get a sequel because I love the F.L.U.D.D mechanic but the controls and camera sort of ruined the experience for me, so this could be a chance to fix it's shortcomings.
