Apparently this mode is the most similar to the classic MP gameplay, moreso than amiibo Party from Mario Party 10.

Mariofans.de put up a preview for Star Rush that included some talk about the game. While I need to see it in action first before I make any judgments, here is the (google) translated excerpt about Balloon Bash:

A further game mode is "Balloon Hunt", the name it does not suspect directly, but balloon hunting corresponds to the classic Mario Party gameplay. There are three game boards available on which we are allowed to play up to 30 rounds (the number of rounds can be set again). Again, all players move simultaneously across the field. After each round, a mini game is played where it win comes coins to buy on a balloon stars a star to. The classic Mario Party Items like fungus, Gold Mushroom, Toadstool, exchange block, dueling gloves are back on the pitch as well as new items are included.

Seems interesting. I guess they want people who liked the original games more to get this, I can see why. Hopefully Nintendo reveals more about Star Rush.

If so, it might be the best Mario Party experience. I mean, this game sounds like Island Tour done right!!
A main mode that looks polished and various other modes that look just as fun!! Also, options, yay!!!  :-D

This mode sounds AMAZING! Though I kinda hope their are at least two more boards to make five or something. I  think it seems weird that Toad Scramble has 15, but this mode has three. XD Anyway, I'm super excited for this game!

It might be correct because the new trailer reveals a new board with switches  :P
Also, I wonder what they means with "Classics from Mario Party 1 & 2".
Some minigames will be inspired by past titles?  ???

I hope this mode either takes all 15 boards from Toad Scramble or take just the biggest boards so that would make 5 or 6 boards. Anyways, Nintendo better have a trailer DEDICATED to this mode because I am looking forward to this.

Intriguingly, it's in Balloon Bash mode where the Tokens from MP10 are compatible (this is visible in the trailer!).

The Mode Balloon Bash has the Look and Feel like Mario Party 4 Mini Board Mad-Dash. This Screenshot is showing the Beginner Board from Ballon Bash, the other two ones are bigger. At the Start of a Ballon Bash Session you can choose the Playtime between 10 Rounds up to 30 Rounds.

So a new trailer was showin for Japan that finally showed a small amount of gameplay. And based on the first board seen, it actually looks pretty good in my opinion. Sure, the style and everything honestly isn't THAT good since it's just a basic board and such, but considering that so far its basically the same gameplay as Toad Scrable, yet stuck in confined hallways with only a few special spaces, it looks to honestly be a great idea. If they were going to change up the original gameplay in any way, they should have done it like this instead of what they did with the car. If only we could get things like item shops and ? spaces now... :P

IIRC I saw a video where Balloon Bash had items available as well and someone had a Double Card which they used on a 3-Star Balloon, and paid 60 coins for 6 Stars. That was pretty crazy.

The fish board is neat but I'm hoping the other three for this mode will be a little more expansive.
