Announced at the Nintendo Financial Results Briefing (Wednesday, April 27, 2016)! A Fire Emblem smartphone game. Release: March 2017 (Worldwide).

Now this was kinda unexpected but pretty much seals FE as a flagship rather than a niche franchise now

The real question is how it will work??

also Fall worldwide would imply it releases now in countries in the southern hemisphere, might wanna fix your northern hemisphere privilege there VIP

It's confirmed that the Fire Emblem application will be free to play.

Yeah, Nintendo has confirmed that Fire Emblem is indeed a flagship franchise, just like Mario, Pokémon, Zelda, and Splatoon.
