Super Mario Party
« on: August 23, 2018 »
Hey all, it's been a while since I've been active here, but ever since I saw the trailer for Super Mario Party I've been getting nostalgic for this forum. It was always a favorite of mine. Anyways I wanted to start an official post for the game since I couldn't find one myself. I'm going to link some new gameplay videos from Gamescom so you guys can see some updated gameplay. (It looks to be the most promising one since ND Cube took over). Anyways I hope this game brings some other familiar faces back as well. Feels good to be back, even if it's in small doses.

The latter two videos showcase a brand new mode called "River Survival" which is a 4-player co-op mode where you race against the clock down a river, where you attempt to snag mini game balloons to add time to your clock. It looks very interesting.

Yeah, this one shows a lot of promise!  ;D I'll be getting it for sure. Some of the minigame ideas are pretty neat so far. Glad to see you! I've always wished this forum was more active (I wasn't around until it was pretty dead).

(I wish it was more active as well but back to topic)
Man I am SO excited! This will get my first purchase when I manage to get a Switch!
I am so glad that a lot of Star Rush mechanisms are brought back and expended on this entry!
Also, River Survival & Mariothon makes me hopeful that Minigame Mode will be back in his former glory!  ;D
And the board mode looks awesome! I'm very glad they can still find new & interesting gimmicks for this gameplay even now!

Glad to see others are excited as well! I haven't had this much faith in an ND Cube helmed Mario Party yet, I also agree that River Survival looks great. Definitely try to get a switch by October 5th! Hopefully Super Mario Party will continue to bring back some old forum regulars.

Japanese Nintendo Channel posted this neat little video showing quite a bit of the normal Mario Party mode:

We get a look at quite a few new minigames.

Bonus Stars are back. Only 2 of them (one given to the player who had the most helpful allies and the other being the usual Happening Star) are given out before the winner is revealed

Also, the ending and the results screen actually reminds me of the original Mario Party where everyone celebrates the winner (then cuts to the results screen where the winner again does their victory animation while the loser do their loser animation).
