The patch to enable that can be downloaded at https://www.dropbox.com/s/bjej9e682y69lxl/Mario%20Party%208%20GC%20Controller.7z?dl=1. Be warned that the IR can move at any time. Icons are changed in this mod. Wiimotes will be disabled with this mod. A mod showcase is below.

Pretty neat, though the problem with the screen edges is a shame.
