Future Elements
« on: June 02, 2012 »
I want to add more varieties to the board. Maybe one board can be Pokey's Labyrinth where a maze is present, or X-Naut Space Dome with transporter's. What do you guys think.

definitely, there should be more to the boards than certain players getting boosted stats

I agree but I need ideas. I can do Wiggler's Garden inspired by the board from MPDS. Every 5 turns or something pesticides are sprayed on certain parts of the hedge-like board. I need IDEAS

What about a board themed on Super Paper Mario, where every couple turns it switches from 2d to 3d

That would be kind of hard. Maybe Paper Mario themed. I will wait until the 3DS game comes out for that one. I think elements like the fan and scissors should be included but I don't know how yet.

I think a maze would be a good idea, maybe called 'Mz Mowz Maze'. She's a tricky mouse that has created a maze for everyone to navigate through. You will need a good strategy to do well in this game.

It would be a good idea to have 'Pokey's Desert'. It would randomly move all players in a random direction 1-3 spaces. Obviously if a character is on the side of the map, they can't move in that direction. The random movement would make things a little more interesting because your original plans would be interrupted.

'The X-Naut Space Dome' could have transporters, which would make strategy the most important factor in the game because you could go through the transporter, and attack the enemy in one move. You could also defend a teleporter if you feel it could be a danger to you.

I also think the 'Fuzzy's deadly drain' would be a good idea. As well as playing underground in a filthy tunnel, you would face attacks from a creature known as, the Fuzzy's. The Fuzzy's will drain all characters hp that are deployed on the map. Having more characters on the map puts you at a disadvantage because the more you have deployed, the more overall they lose. However, in this map, if all characters (on your team) have 0 hp, you lose instantly. Eg. If you only have one character deployed on the map, and their hp is completely drained, you lose even though you haven't deployed any of your other characters.

The final map could be 'Bowser's Magma Mine'. In this map, 2 spaces randomly fill with lava every turn. If any of your characters are unfortunate enough to be on these spaces when they fill up with lava, they die instantly. If you do not want luck to play a large role in this luck-based game, you have to win as fast as possible. The red spaces stay there until the game ends and if you are careless enough to move one of your characters into one of them, it will be lights out for them.

Obviously these are only ideas and can be adjusted. Just give me a little credit for coming up with most of them. :P

I'll maybe come up with some more another time. Surely the ideas are enough for now. :P

What you need to do is type my name 'Toblet', right click it and click 'add to dictionary'. That way it shouldn't bother you any more.

I think the main thing that should be implemented even before the other gimmicks is to make direct vertical movement from your token to the opponent's prevented by means of a wall or something (Still allowing attack approaches from the flank)

How about something inspired by Excess Express, with parts of the board moving after a few turns?

Marth is not amused.

I don't get what you mean by direct vertical movement.

The red is like a wall that can stop character from just charging up or down with an item like the Rock Shroom to get into an attacking position. So in that case they'd have to go around.

thats a good idea. I think arenas coming up later will not have that problem though with all the obstacles and gimmicks. We will just finish out these last 3 stages of the first round and the 2nd round will begin. Just waiting for the match between Yoshiman and LP to finish.

When your 4-Player game begins (Round 2) - I recommend using something like this to give players a chance.

Except - include an area in the middle that people can get to by walking around the barriers there.

Something like this...

(BTW - you can fill the corners if you'd like :P)

I am happy to announce that the 4P board is called Ms. Mowz Training Groundz.

Description:
Ms. Mowz wasn't born a ninja. She had to train and work hard. Using her agility she quickly became the most sought after thief in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Ms. Mowz has been kind enough to let us use her very own training grounds. MV is key here because a treasure lies in the middle with treasures. The treasure chest can be LP, a card, or a maze shift. Due to the constant battles that will take place up there for the treasure chest, it is advised to bulk up your troops. If you obtain a card, you must bring it back to your team token to bank it. If you get defeated on the way back you will drop the card and anybody will be able to pick it up. LP and Maze Shift is automatic. This field also contains Mouze Holes that randomly transport you to a different hole. All I have left to say is... ARE YOU GUYS READY!
