True Online Mario Party Guide!!!
« on: November 20, 2015 »
I am unable to find any reliable information regarding Online Mario Party and it sucks! So here I am going to be posting very simply how we are going o kick start the community.

*NOTE*: The guides I am posting come from the super smash bros community. Their community in no way helps ours, but they have set up guidelines and FAQ for everyone to follow in order to have their game run smoothly. If we follow this same path we will be able to have stable games and play smash if needed. ALSO, THIS IS IMPORTANT, WHERE THE GUIDE SAY TO DOWNLOAD SMASH, THAT IS WHERE YOU DOWNLOAD MARIOPARTY.

First order of business,

For those who are interested in MarioParty(1-3) on the N64, please follow this guide here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-rucRVGZcblagIwZtdc5dGeDUmPJFluVDeLDzzShPxI/edit

For those who are interested in MarioParty(4-9) on the GameCude, please follow this guide here:
**SKIP TURNING OFF MEMORY CARDS AND SKIP TURNING CHEATS ON**
https://www.smashladder.com/guides/view/25jx/melee/melee-netplay-guide

Once you have these sorted out I'd like you to add me on skype if at all possible. Sadly, we don't have an amazing website like they do so...we will just open a group on skype for arranging games.

Skype name: lolfaze

THE END,
Hopefully this works...good luck to all!!!!!!
Happy Partying!

Ahem. Posted on the same forum too, so I don't see how you couldn't find it and how it "sucked."

Well I see that and while its very good, it is still confusing for many. What we need is a community where all MarioParty netplay players use the same emulator and talk among each other.

A community where people who want to play MarioParty RIGHT NOW can actually go somewhere and start up a match, having all these people googling going to random places is only more confusing. So if we follow in the smash community's footsteps, we will eventually be as open as them and finding a MarioParty match will be simple.

I never made anyone google anything in that tutorial, every file you need(except the roms obviously) is linked there -.- And I don't see how it is confusing...

Sorry, I'm not trying to be offensive at all. I appreciate your efforts. Its just that from my point of view, for the N64, there are already servers in place for people to play online. And for GC, connection to each other is a click away.

It is my opinion that both hamachi and port forwarding are not needed for netplay. As for emulator that is up to user preference. I only posted smash guides because they have a system where all users follow and finding a match is instant. If things broke down and you needed help the smash ladder has a FAQ for helping with connectivity and emulator issues. If everyone in the Marioparty community followed the same guidelines, finding a match and actually playing through it would be a simple task.

I see where you're coming from, but I don't get the reason why you think a guide to play a fighting game online will work for a party game.

Regardless, however, I'm not going to argue about this anymore. If you'd like to play a game online sometime, I'd be happy to, as long as we use the Project64 method on my tutorial.

Due to the lack of success fromt his post I've continued looking. For anyone interested, I've joined a steam group called "Mario Party Netplay" its a little bit of ppl who play MP online together. Join it if you want in.
