Ehhhh, I don't usually count those two, because they started off from Mario games... but I see you're point. Still, I REALLY want me some Toon Zelda, though, seeing as technically there were only four Mario characters in Brawl (in that sense) she won't make the cut this time, either. Unless, the Mario series brings someone else. But who? Rosalina (please god no)? Maybe Daisy, I'd be fine with Daisy.
We need more female fighters anyway, so I like the sound of characters like Daisy, Krystal, Toon Zelda, and Bayonetta (not gonna happen folks) rumored about.

I doubt Daisy and Rosalina would happen. They can easily be alternative costumes of Princess Peach.

Brawl did already have four representatives for Zelda. We already have two, Link and Toon Link. Ganondorf is more likely, or if there is to be someone new, could be Demise or Ghirahim instead. Zelda will probably make it in. I don't know about Toon Zelda, though. It would be nice, though. She might make it in this time, even though she didn't in Brawl. Also, Brawl's files had Toon Zelda as a playable character in the disc.

It'd be nice to get female fighters from FE and KI in - though I guess I'm being restrictive to choose Lucina and Phosphora (Palutena would be also ok as KI represent, or perhaps Medusa. Not Pandora tho, even though her Amazon form is badass)... :p

If we go by Sakurai's comments on character significance to a series as a whole though... I can't see a Tetra being iconic enough to trump Zelda for a place. :p

I've seen some cool Daisy sets, but I too am not sure if she'll make the cut. She's a... maybe. Rosalina is an obivous no, then again... who expected Wii Fit Trainer to be playable let alone BE in the game?

And yes, we need Lucina and Palutena (personally, I never like Phosphora and I see her as a human Pikachu if she WERE in Smash, but I've never heard anyone request her before) from FE and KI respectively. Tetra would never trump Zelda's place, I just want to see my swatch-buckling she-sailer in action.

Also, where the HECK are the characters we're begging and pleading to see in HD? I don't care much for Peach as I do for:
Falco (Oh god, I love you Falco)
Marth
Ness
Diddy Kong
Captain Falcon (I feel like everyone is forgetting about him)

Don't we kind-of already have Diddy Kong in HD?

Marth would be nice, but what about Chrom? Has people been suggesting him a lot recently?

You know what, I think we can expect a character or two from Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei crossover, when it rolls out in Japan. Willing to bet that's out in 2014.

The rest are hard to come out of, as they don't really have any big games in the upcoming months and 2014. But I still think Ness and Captain Falcon will still make it in as they are part of the original 12.

For Yoshi, well, he has his games coming in 2014, so I don't think there's any reason to worry about him not making the cut, H-J.

OMG YES! I forgot about Yoshi! He'll probably be revealed around YNI time, but... I want to see him now ;(

(Personally, I really only hate Phosphora for her voice acting. The voice makes me cringe.)

Well, I'm talking about characters we KNOW are going to be in Smash Bros. and Marth is gonna most likely be in there one way or another (hint hint, Lucina) and I don't doubt Ness, CF, or Falco WON'T make it, I just REALLY want to see them. I don't know why, I fall in love with the strangest characters sometimes...

It's really cool to see Toon Link return, he's one of my mains in Brawl, so I'll be sure to kick (slash?) some ass with him.

I feel like right now, Sakurai is being very cautious on who he reveals. Like I know he's just showing Toon Link cuz of Wind Waker HD in Japan, but like... After the 3 newcomers (Wii Fit Trainer, Megaman, Villager) were revealed, I haven't seen anything other than veterans. While on the Smash Dojo, it was most newcomers being shown. I think this is interesting.

I think he's trying to focus on getting any character that appeared in the past out of the way first, before revealing new characters.

Yea it definitely keeps fans on there feet, also Sakurai keeps switching his pattern which is interesting. It's nice to see Toon Link make a comeback although I would prefer Young Link over Toon Link any day. :P

Oh please, no veteran is leaving this game anytime soon especially Yoshi, but I have to admit if any veteran has a chance of getting kicked out, it will probably be Ness (I say this cuz he series is feeling a little voidless).

I guess too there will be a Pokémon character around 12th October.
But I think it'll be nothing ground breaking.
Maybe something like Lucario, Jigglypuff, maybe Mewtwo (I hope so). :D
I doubt they will reveal a really new Pokémon.

And does anyone think Sonic has a chance of staying in?
They could reveal him around the release of Sonic Lost World...

You're missing Pokemon Trainer as well. The only thing I'm worried about is if they will reveal him with new Pokemon, the three from Brawl, or multiple generations (like Charizard/Totodile/Grovyle as an example)

But yes, Pokémon Trainer is great, but not as an enemy in All-Stars Mode.
