Title: Robots.
Post by: Mister Sushi on December 02, 2014
Guys, robots are actually becoming a thing. I'm getting scared.
But then again, I'm kind of excited.
What do you think of all the new robots?

It's pretty interesting when you see something really cool and you think like, hey, maybe the future's now.

Though from the looks of things it's not going to be a very good future, especially for the common laborer.

Honestly, once these things get big (if they do), I have a feeling it'll be a part of everyday life and we wouldn't think much of it or take those things for granted, and then the novelty of it all would fade into the background. Like how revolutionary was it when the radio was invented? Or even like the phone? Nowadays I can type this bulls*** paragraph on my iPhone away from home, but a century ago, telephones were still something really new and innovative.

A Computer/robot is only as evil as it's creator.

A Computer/robot is only as evil as it's creator.

It would be more accurate to say that a robot is only as evil as it's intended purpose is, since you could easily have someone 'good' writing (accidentally or otherwise) a robot designed to emulate evil, or vice versa.

But morality doesn't really apply to AI. They'd need to have emotion for that. Most likely an AI's only concern would be efficiency, which is the biggest problem. If you set an AI free it would most likely see humans as a pest.
