Winged Pikmin

Winged Pikmin

Winged Pikmin are one of the two newest types of Pikmin introduced in Pikmin 3. They are pink, and have wings that allow them to fly. They also seem to wear sunglasses. Encountered in Twilight River, they are light, and not very good attackers. However, they excel in aerial combat, making them useful for flying enemies.

Winged Pikmin are cute, but I hardly use them unless I really need to. I used Winged Pikmin for two of the bosses, making them look like cakewalk, after dealing with the bosses' patterns. Despite the fact that I hardly used them unless I needed to like I said, I even propagated over 500 of them. Even though they seem to make Blue Pikmin useless, as Winged Pikmin can fly over water, they actually do not make Blue Pikmin useless.

The Winged Pikmin are very useful for getting fruit, items, and corpses back over to the Drake, the only thing stopping them are flying enemies (which there are very few of) and Arachnode webs. In battle they're pretty useless though, even when Ultra Spicy Sprayed.

It's also useful to have 10 of them carry Olimar in the final level. You can use a glitch where if you dodge whistle against the wall near the paper bag in the beginning of Formidable Oak, the Winged Pikmin will eventually clip the wall and you can make them charge and fly behind the bag to push it, giving you access to the area with the Blowhogs, Amprat, and Snitchbugs faster.

I never knew about that glitch, but there was a better glitch in Formidable Oak, but it takes time. There's a shortcut next to the start that really helps, but it requires bomb-rocks.

I also used about 60-70 Winged Pikmin to fight Scornet Maestro and Quaggled Mireclops. With the help of Ultra-Spicy Spray, it made the boss look like a joke, as I was able to take out half of Quaggled Mireclops's health.

These Pikmin are nice. For me they are the Pikmin type that was missing before.
There were Pikmin that could live underwater but no flying Pikmin.

Their eyes only look weird. Like aliens.

The Winged Pikmin are cool, but I always hate when they get caught in the spider webs. I hardly send them out to fight, unless it is flying enemies.
Yes, that's awful. Because of a spider I lost all my Winged Pikmin on one day.
