The website and forum - a clear divide?

In-case you haven't heard, Mother4Ever, a member of the website, has recently left MPL. Part of the reason for this was he did not get along with members of the forum. But with his recent permanent(?) departure, it begs the question of why there is a divide between the people of the website and those of the forum in the first place:
New arrivals vs veteran MPL members?
Young members vs older members?
"Good vs evil?" as M4E might say.
Something else?

Why is this a thing?
Can we do anything about it?
Does anyone want it to be sorted?
Also, do you consider yourself a website user or a forum member? Or even both? Why?
What do you guys think of the divide?

I don't even know how there's a division b/t MPL Site and Forum. I'm going to say this now, we have whining ass children (Not all but some, if you think this is about you then IT IS about you) on the forum and the site. About that David shit, something personal to him happen and I don't know but all I have to say is that there is no chivalry between young members and older members. Sometimes we all get out of hand but we not gonna sit here and let shit go the way it goes. Those "Groupies" or "Buddies" at times do the most and then when they get clocked, they get all pissy and want to bitch about things and then even had the nerve to validate one of their friends actions trying to null the repercussions. I'll let SZ deal with this division and it will be mentioned as well with the staff. It doesn't make any sense how there's a so-called "split" between ONE site itself.

Gotta agree with the disrespect occurring, but he DID say that he was going to keep in touch with some of his friends, like me, RafalRib, and RobinFTW. But yeah, I would think people are trying to bully other people is because of age, mostly. And I'm just saying this, but he has autism. It may be a little hard for him to cooperate like the way an 18 year old person does. I would think some people here may need to be more empathetic towards "disabled" people.

I would think there needs to be some things done with it, mostly the fact of being nice and empathetic towards others. Even though people are doing some bad things recently, a small problem that can be solved turns into a BIG problem that may be difficult to resolve.

The divide is okay, but the main problem is that some MPL members aren't on the forum, and vice versa. Perhaps this is the reason why people are bullying---because people aren't as active on the forum as other people. Mother4Ever was mainly a Website member, until he came to the Forum, and that's where some issues occurred. I would probably be classified as both, because I have over 1,800 posts on the website, and over 500 on the Forum. I am also very active on both.

But to sum it up, something needs to be done, as long as this bull**** stops and things get better.

@Bowser

David having Autism is probably the reason no one really dragged him on the floor. He needs to realize he can't be doing things like that and expecting no one to respond or critique against him. Thinking everything is glory-glory where no debates or arguments exist... But he's gone so we fathom if he learns this on his own!

That's true. Maybe he needs to understand that not everybody likes Earthbound...
Though, he IS going to a website related to Earthbound... Maybe he'll meet new friends there! (don't wanna reveal the name)

Is there really a divide between the website and the forum? I mean, some people prefer the forum while other people prefer the website, and that is totally fine. Why should there be a divide? I'm more of a website user, but I like to go sometimes on the forum too.

And did all these complications came because someone did not get along the forum members? I know it's sad, and this user was well known to all website users, but it's just someone who left, it's not the end of the world. And who knows, maybe he'll return sometime.

I am sad that he's not on MPL anymore, but I think to much drama is created because of this, seriously.

I am extremely baffled on this whole thing, or why this is even a thing. I didn't know there was this "grand divide", and I highly doubt there really is. I do indeed think there are a few people on the website who have a problem with forum members, unfortunately those people are just a very vocal bunch. It's not everyone though.

One person in particular has created problems with several people (intentionally or not) and now they don't want to be on the forum anymore. Which is fine, they are entitled to leave if they want. However, it is definitely not worth making pointless drama over.

Man, if you expect to treat people the way he did, and be loved because he's autistic, no chance.
M4E is a nice guy, but if you expect that everything you think is perfect, it gets you nowhere.
People have to stop thinking their opinion is the only opinion.
There is no bullying going on here, MPL's staff would put an end to it if they saw that.
I mean, you guys think you can say whatever you want to people, and then if they say something to you it's so terrible...

M4E does this all the time, this time it's just a lot more... public(?)
Anyways, I'm not worried about him being gone for long.

I know he's nice, but he needs to learn that not everybody likes the Mother series.
Did you read the Earthbound article with Snowy and Mother4Ever's convo, then Staryu's comment there?

This is a but unrelated, but man, backing people with no reason other than being your friend is going to cause you problems in life.
M4E lashed out at Snowy for hating Mother, and you went and backed M4E just because he was your friend.
You were unrelated to the topic as a whole.

Back on topic though, I think the ages excuse needs to be backed off.
We got along fine before, and one incident suddenly changes everything.

He needs to learn that his actions and words have consequences.
Exactly. Think before you type.
How ironic.
It was supposed to be ironic. ;P

If we came to a grand divide just because a few site members and forum users don't get along, then this is a pretty stupid situation. I signed up as a forum user to meet new people. I'm one of those links between the two websites. I'm not gonna let it end by some kid whinning. (Sorry, had to say it)

This too. There's too much drama because of his disappearance "forever".
