Randomized Pokemon Nuzlocke Journal - Pokemon White 2

So, here I'll be writing the biggest events from my new adventure through Unova. It's my first actual nuzlocke!

Entry #1 - A New Journey!

Welcome to the first journal entry of my Randomized Pokemon Nuzlocke. Before we get into the real thing, let me get talk about my first unlucky run.
My trainer's name is Colyton, I have to choose between three random starters: Azurill, NidoranF and Gothita. I decide to go with NidoranF. I've never really used a Nidoqueen before, so it'll be interesting to see how this goes. I now have to go against my rival and his raised from an egg Pokemon!

Go NidoranF or should I say Queen (her nickname)!
The rival sends out a Gothita! (How convenient)
- Queen outspeeds Gothita and uses scratch. It does an okay amount of damage. Should be enough to defeat Gothita in a couple of turns.
- Gothita uses pound. Gothita gets poisoned due to Poison Point (yay!)
- Queen uses scratch again.
- Gothita uses pound again.
- Queen uses scratch.
- Gothita uses confusion.
- Queen Faints, end of the match and I lose...

So yep, not much was seen and I lost my nuzlocke at my first match...

Now on the second try and the REAL thing:
The name's Colyton and my rival is Xavier. I'm now ready to embark on my new journey. Each day is a new start and this one seems to be a good one. It's a beautiful day of spring, Bianca comes for a visit to give me my first pokemon in Aspertia City. The three starters are Azurill, NidoranF and Gothita. The choice is hard, but this time around, I decide to go with Gothita. Her name is going to be Slipknot! (It's actually male, but whatever!

Xavier wants to battle huh!?
He sends out Azurill. I go first and use Confusion. Azurill's HP drops by at least 50% and uses Bubble. It doesn't do anything too big. I use Confusion again and Azurill goes down! It's a first victory and this seems like it's going to be an amazing adventure! I am ready to go!
I leave to Route 19. I get a first potion by some random dude at the gate. Out of the gate, Bianca is waiting for me and decides to show me how to catch a Pokemon (like I didn't know). After that, it's my turn to try it out there.
I walk into the grass and what do I get...? A wild ELECTIVIRE!
- Slipknot uses Pound as a first move, Electivire loses at least 1/4 of its HP
- The wild Electivire uses Leer.
- Use Pound again
- Electivire goes for Low Kick, Slipknot loses something like 1HP
- Repeat
- I throw a pokeball and I manage to catch my very first Pokemon!
This new member is going to be named BlackBolt!

The journey is really only starting and I'm ready to go on! Now what does my team look like:

Slipknot (Gothita, M) - Level 6 - Modest Nature
- Pound
- Confusion

BlackBolt (Electivire, F) - Level 2 - Calm Nature
- Quick Attack
- Leer
- Low Kick
- ThunderShock

^It was the best Pokemon Nuzlocke ever!

Entry #2 - Monkey Business
After a great start, meeting up with Bianca and receiving my first Pokemon, I was more than happy. I battled with Xavier and won my first match. I then left Aspertia City for the next town and on my way had the opportunity to catch an Electivire. One thing for sure, it was going to be a useful pokemon. At the end of the route, I meet this funny guy, Alder, the former Unova champion. So he wants me to help him with something and invites me to his house in Flocessy Town. Arriving to Flocessy Town, I go up north. I see him up there, and funnily enough, he notices I have two Town Maps. I have to deliver this thing to Xavier and by doing this, I did not know what was coming! Alder tells me my friend went to Route 20 to train and that I should deliver it now! The little something will have to wait.

I proceed to go to Route 20. I find some trainers there and to be honest, they were a piece of cake! After defeating the first trainer, there's some grass and I could not be any more excited to meet my next friend! I walk into the grass and what do I get....!?!
An Illumise!
Well, it is something I guess. I'll catch it because why not, but oh well.
I send BlackBolt to help me catch my next partner.
I use Quick Attack several times until it loses enough HP. I then throw a Pokeball. After a while, I catch it! I welcome Illumise to my team, or should I say, Lucy now! (Though, to be honest, I don't really have any intention of using it...)
I now continue my path to the Flocessy Ranch! It's a new area, which means a new Pokemon! I walk into the grass and I'm excited at the idea of getting ANYTHING.

This maybe new partner is none other than.... a MONFERNO!
I send Black Bolt once again. (I'm also training it)
- Black Bolt uses Thundershock
- Monferno uses Ember
And after a couple of moves, Monferno is left with little HP, but still on the yellow area. Using one more move could be really risky. So I decide to throw a first Pokeball, but I fail. It continues attacking and my Pokemon keep losing HP. My Electivire is on yellow now, close to red, so I have to switch out and switch into Gothita. I throw another Pokeball, but still fail. I throw a third one, and fail again. So, seeing that I keep failing, I throw my Luxury Ball, I found it earlier. I almost had it!! It misses again. I have to take risks and so I decide to use Pound. Lucky enough, it lives! Though, my Gothita is in danger, so I have to use a potion on it and by the same occasion, on the next turn I use a potion on my BlackBolt. I then throw some more pokeballs. It misses again. After a while, I throw one more Pokeball. After all this sweating, after being scared, I get Monferno! I caught it and I was actually so happy! Not only did I get an actual starter, but I also got my favorite monkey! Welcoming Iron Fist!

I have to heal, so I go back to the nearest Pokemon Center. I return to the Flocessy Ranch and find Xavier there. He wants to battle.
He sends out Azurill and I send out BlackBolt (Electivire). After two low kicks, he is defeated once more... and I kind of feel bad for him. The owners of the Ranch notice us and ask for our help. One of their Herdiers got lost in the ranch and we gotta look for it. It's no problem for me and I'll gladly help. So, I decide to battle some of the trainers up there too. I train Slipknot, BlackBolt and Iron Fist at the same time. Some of these trainers got some interesting pokemons, such as Togetic, Clefairy and Pawniard.
Arriving at the end of the Ranch, there it is, Herdier. It is stuck with a mysterious man. He is from Team Plasma and that means nothing good. Though, awkwardly enough, he retreats and even gives me a TM. The Herdier is saved and the owners of the Ranch are more than happy! Everything is fine and I so, I have to return see Alder.

Talking with Alder, he makes me battle against two really young trainers. It's fun and it's more of a lesson for the young trainers and myself. After that, I gotta leave for my next destination and that's newly opened gym in my home town!

Once in Aspertia City once again, I head to the gym. It's time to win my first match and my team is definitely getting stronger! Cheren, the gym leader is as excited as I am! He will be waiting for me at the back of his gym. First though, I gotta defeat the trainers in the school! I do not want to brag, but the they weren't much of a challenge to be really honest. I heal up before the real challenge.

So, am I ready for my first match against Cheren? Sir yes sir, I surely am!
Cheren opens up with a Cottonee and I have my newest member in the front, Iron Fist (Monferno)!
- Cottonee outspeeds me and uses Stun Spore
- I get paralyzed unfortunately, but this won't stop up.
- Iron Fist uses Ember, it's a critical hit and a one hit!
- Cottonee goes down and even though this was quick, it's only warming up!
- Cheren sends out his next pokemon, it's a Shelmet!
- Being paralyzed, Shelmet goes first and uses Curse
- Iron Fist uses Ember and Shelmet goes down to more than 50% of its HP!
- Shelmet repeats Curse again!
- I am lucky again and able to attack. Ember takes down Shelmet!

I am victorious and this first successful match gets me a Basic Badge and a new TM. I am really proud of Iron Fist! This entry definitely was all about Monferno! The monkey is on fire!!! (literally)

Entry #3 - Everyone Wants To Be A Superstar

I earned my first badge earlier. We could celebrate, but there's no time for that yet. With Team Plasma back in Unova and still many gyms to conquer, still so many things to do, there was no time to rest!
I could now continue on Route 20 to reach Virbank City. I had to face a couple of trainers and man, these ones were definitely stronger. I still manage to win though. Had to face a Raichu once and I also had a first double battle against a Mienshao and Machamp. They were imposing, but no match for my little monsters.

Arriving in Virbank City, I saw the city's gym leader, Roxie, and her father, who is the captain of the ferry to Castelia City. They got some family trouble. Apparently Roxie's father wants to be a movie superstar and a captain. Though, to be a superstar you need a lot of time. Roxie's father has been spending way too much time acting. There have been complaints from the citizens to cross to Castelia City since the captain is missing. Guess it's time to help and for that I'll first need to defeat my next gym.

I decide to train in the Virbank Complex before taking on the gym. Since it's a new area, it also means new encounters. Once in the complex, I get in the grass and a couple of steps further, I get my new encounter. From above came flying a Starly!! Having BlackBolt in front, I decide to switch onto my Gothita.
- Switching, Starly uses Quick Attack and does not so much damage
- Gothita uses Confusion and HP drops decently
- The wild Starly uses Wing Attack and does not so much damage
- Gothita uses Pound
It's now time to catch it. Since I do not want to repeat the story with Monferno, I go directly with a Great Ball I received entering the city. IT'S A DIRECT CATCH! It's a female Starly and I can't really go with what I originally planned to nickname it, so instead of Hawkeye, I go with Hawkgirl!

I continue my training in the Virbank Complex and dedicate some time to my new member. Hawkgirl gets some good experience and before I know it, it evolves into a Staravia! Then again it was level 10 when I caught it, so it was an easy job to do so! The team was shaping up to be something great! I defeat the last couple of lazy workers in the complex and pick up the items in it. Once that was done, it was time to face the gym.

Rock'n'Roll baby! The gym is really alive in this city. Before taking on the gym leader, I enjoy their music. I don't think I said it before, but Roxie isn't only a gym leader, but also a rock band member. They're great, but now I have some business to take care of. I go for the first trainer. It owned two Pokemon, a Snubull and a Rotom.
Snubull was easy to take down, two Mach Punches and it was down.
Rotom though... it gave me more trouble. After a couple of Embers it went down.
The second band member was easier. Having a Cleffa and a Sunflora. Iron Fist took care of her with ease.
After that, only Roxie was left. I heal up and battle her.
She opens up with a Snorlax, like are you serious?
- Iron Fist uses Mach Punch, Snorlax loses 40% of its HP.
- Snorlax uses Defense Curl, typical.
- Iron Fist uses Mach Punch, it loses a little less, but still a decent amount I guess.
- Snorlax uses Defense Curl again
- Iron Fist uses Mach Punch. Snorlax is now close to being defeat.
Though, what does a gym leader normally do? You guessed right, a super potion.
The same scenario gets repeated and after 5 turns of Mach Punching, Snorlax goes down. Roxie's second Pokemon is none other than a Starmie.
- I switch onto BlackBolt.
- BlackBolt uses Shockwave, recently learned while training. Starmie's HP goes down to a little more than 50%.
- Starmie uses Water Gun and does nothing too bad.
- BlackBolt uses Shockwave again and Starmie goes down.
After an intense fight against Roxie, she goes down. I am given the Toxic Badge and also a new TM. She recognizes how strong I am. She remembers she has to go see her father. He wants to be a superstar like his daughter, but people need their captain! At the same time, a scout saw my battle with Roxie and says I have potential in being a great actor!

I am introduced to the world of movies. North of Virbank City, there's the PokeStar Studio! Roxie's father movie is just about to make its grand debut! So why not watch it to gain some acting skills and some experience? We're invited to watch the grand premiere and the room is full of people. The movie starts, Brycenman vs the Riolu-Man! As it went on, I noticed people leaving and some others falling asleep... I guess it wasn't that amazing afterall.  Roxie's father is definitely disappointed even if he does not say it. Guess acting and being a ''superstar'' is not for everyone. Though, captain of a ship is one awesome job! He'll continue doing that. One sure can be proud!

It's now my turn to try acting, because I'm forced to... really. I have to take on the same movie... I'll skip this part since it's not really important... and I'm successful, apparently.

Entry #4 - Big City Business

Movies are fun and all, but it's time to return to actual business. Having solved the captain's problems, I could now sail to Castelia City, my next big destination. On my way to the next gym!

As always now, there's something on my way. Before I get on the ferry, Team Plasma interferes. It's no big trouble thankfully. They try to escape and I decide to follow them. What the heck do they want? I end up finding one of the grunts on Route 20, but like I said before, it's really no big deal... for now at least. After this little problem, I can actually head to Castelia.

The city is beautiful. From far away, we can see those skyscrapers trying to reach new heights. There's a whole lot to explore in this city now and for a first visit, it's hard to decide which way I should take. Leaving the pier, I cross paths with a clown and he invites me to play some game. This little game consists of finding his pals a bit everywhere in the city. It's definitely a great way to explore the immensity of this city. It gives me the opportunity to spot some important buildings such as the Battle Company building. Plus, there are some trainers in there! Once again, thanks to my team, I manage to defeat these trainers. I explore the rest of the city after this, and I actually manage to find all the clowns. I am gifted a bike.

It's now time to defeat this new gym. After exploring, we have some business to take care of....
Unfortunately for me, the gym leader, Burgh, is away. I am told he went running after some Team Plasma grunts... again these goons. Don't they ever learn? They were headed to the Castelia Sewers, so I have no other choice to follow them. When I enter the sewers, it smells like........ well nevermind, you know, sewers. Some Pokemons actually live here and it's a chance for a new encounter. Some steps further AND!!! It is none other than an ARMALDO, not bad for a first encounter actually. With the help of my Iron Fist, I manage to catch this new member of my family! It's name is going to be Bolin! (Legend of Korra reference).

As I go further, I get many surprise. Trainers are generally good, but the wild pokemons in here are something. I encounter; Leafeon, Garchomp, Deoxys, Flareon and Terrakion which all are great threats or could have been a great addition to my team. I end up finding Team Plasma after all this walking, and thankfully it's isn't that hard. Burgh also shows up and some really weird looking guy too. His name is Colress and apparently he does some kind of research. He's really intriguing, but all I know right is that he is with Team Plasma. After I get rid of TP, I do some further exploration for items and such. There's an exit to the Relic Cave. I decide to go in and it gives me the chance to meet a new Pokemon. This time it is a Nuzleaf! This is simply amazing! The Nuzlocke pokemon!! I manage to catch it too! It's a young male, and it's going to be nicknamed Dr.Druid! It's not over yet, as I go back to the sewers, there are some stairs. These are the stairs of learning, well not really. When I reach the top, I find myself in some secret Castelia place. There is some grass and this is a new area. I walk into it and what do you know... a RHYDON shows up. This is a blessing. Though, catching it in an ordinary pokeball isn't going to be an easy job. After three tries, gotcha! It's now the latest member of my team and it's name is going to be; Destroyer! Ready to destroy some gyms and team plasma fools!

I am now ready to challenge the gym with my newest team members! I decide to drop Lucy for now and bring Destroyer and Dr.Druid. I challenge the obligatory trainers. Some are easy and some others are actually a challenge... and by challenge I mean that the inevitable actually happens...
It was by a beautiful day, a famous ground type pokemon makes an appearance. The hot Groudon... Since it's not really high in levels yet, I decide to go with an advantage. I sent out my Dr.Druid to cut this legendary pocket monster. Unfortunately for me, Razor Leaf isn't enough and I'm burnt down by Lava Plume...

It's the first death in this locke... really wish I could've gotten a Shiftry... sigh...

It's not over yet though, I still have a gym to take down. Groudon is taken down by my Hawkgirl thank the lord.

I finally reach the gym. Unfortunately, I cannot remember all of the battle details. Burgh had a Cranidos first. His second pokemon was a Pidgeot, easily taken down by my Black Bolt and thundershock. Cranidos was taken down by Iron Fist and Mach Punch. Now, the last monster is... Heatmor. Not bad actually. It actually gives a good battle. After defeating Burgh I get my new badge! It's now three badges I gain!!

Quick Team Update:
Black Bolt (Electivire) - Level 20

Hawkgirl (Staravia) - Level 20
