Plum's Power Rangers Rant

When I was growing up (and still today) I loved Power Rangers. It was and still is my favorite TV show/series. I have seen every episode of every season. Bought a toy of my favorite Ranger of the season now and again. Power Rangers taught me to stick up for myself and all that mushy goodness, But there is this one thing I absolutely hate about it. Ever since Disney took over the series I noticed something, it wasn't to noticeable to other boys who watched the show because frankly they didn't give a damn. It started around Power Rangers: Dino Thunder. The thing I'm talking about is the slight sexism the show has picked up. Completely different from the 90's when girls were important and even sometimes the leader of the team itself. The girls were pushed into the back, they seemed like the most unimportant of the Rangers. While they guys got the OMGF***ING AMAZING toys and promotional stuff the girls are nowhere to be seen. I'm not a feminist, but I do believe in the fact everyone should be considered equal. The way the girls are shoved out of the way so that the boys can hog all the glory just pissed me off. At least in Japan where the series started they are treated as equals. I knew female fans of the show and they even mentioned how there were so little of the toys and stuff of the girls. The only toys the girls had were the ones that were necessary. I never like it when a race or gender is treated unfairly and in Power Rangers after Disney took over it became slightly sexist. I can't stand it. Those female Rangers have every right to have just as much limelight as the boys. I can honestly say if they were to make the special toys for all the Rangers more people would be happy. The girls who like Power Rangers would be able to have the girls with the awesome toys of them with action functions, or them riding a bike, or them in a special armor, and the boys could have the same to. it's not only the toys I'm talking about. Little girls who watch Power Rangers idolize the girls and want to be strong like them, but then they are left out of the special Ranger poster, or not at a Ranger event. It's just not fair...'

Hope you enjoyed my poorly typed rant...
