Plum and the Cancer drama...

I suppose I jumped to a conclusion saying that he was run out of the Forum. Looking back at some of the topics, it wasn't as horrible as I remembered it to be. Certainly the pressure to leave was there, but what can you expect when you lie about cancer. I still think some people were being very harsh, and think some people could have toned it down a bit. But that just comes to the way I look at things, I guess.

BUT, if it was like I described in my previous posts, I would stand by what I said.

I never knew how he got run out or anything, but like Ryou and Aegis said I can't stand lying especially about something like that. When Snowy lied about his parents being dead (and sucked at lying since half the people kinda guessed he was lying anyways :p) he lost my respect for a good year or 2. But hey Snowy's a cool dude now in my book so anything could've happened with Plum lol.
baby you know you always loved me.

I find it hard to believe that Plum was attention-seeking if he suddenly left before he read most people's comments. Attention-seekers would just embrace the anger because they love seeing people's reactions.

What are the chances that Plum actually lied about NOT having cancer and would rather us think he was an a****** than someone who was dying? Active members don't just quit forever without some form of explanation. He literally hasn't even attempted to log on once - most people in the same scenario would have at least made an attempt to come back.

Am I just over-thinking things? :p

There's multiple forms of attention seeking, he could of done it to get sympathy from everyone and make people feel sorry for him cuz of his... depression.

Well if that's the case I would've thought he'd at least log on momentarily to see how people still felt about him?

I would think the same, but maybe he felt like he made too big of a mistake. Because I remember once the topic went up, people were posting, and I think he knew that it just be better to leave rather than deal with everyone.

Hmm, maybe you're right. I think he said he was planning on leaving before the cancer drama anyway.

Even though he hasn't logged onto MPL, he could still be using a proxy and/or an alt to read through the forum.

I left for quite some time so I wasn't here when this happened but lieing about can dr is a serious problem

Approximately 1500 die a day from Cancer and to lie about it is a real problem. For someone to lie about that is a big thing and people don't just announce something like that for fun something else must of been happening in his real life. It all reminds me of the 'Would you say this in real life or just the Internet' arguments

But then again some people take that to offence and can retaliate very harsh and most of us do it because its a very hard thing to suppress. But making comments like some people did can lead to depression and for some people suicide just look at the people who killed themselves because of bullies at schools. I'm not saying that we can't retaliate back but sometimes these things can lead to suicide

So I'm sitting on the fence with this. If someone does lie about cancer it's fine to retaliate harshly but sometimes you can be to harsh

Yeah, but IIRC some boards aren't viewable, like the blog board.

Ok. I recently (by recently I mean 5 minutes ago) found the threads about this (when I started looking through the blogs it was in Aegis's) and WOW! I get he was going through depression but CANCER? That's a pretty big lie. I don't understand why he would say cancer instead of depression.

That fact he said it on a forum was weird. I don't get why he couldn't just say well I'm going to be leaving the forum soon. Good bye. Instead he chose cancer. Poor choice. You could if just said I'm leaving or said I'm battling depression and had some of his awesome friends help him through it instead you ruined his friendship with some awesome friends.
