MPL Connection Problems

Someone move this post to the Intro/Goodbye board in a new topic, I cannot submit new topics as using a proxy won't let me. Thank you. Have the topic name (without quotes) "MPL Connection Problems"

Sorry for leaving unexpectedly, friends. Apparently, servers of MPL have blocked my household's IP address. I don't know why, nor does SZ know why either. Until my household gets a new IP or SZ figures out how to get the MPL servers to remove my IP that's blocking me from ever accessing anywhere on Mario Party Legacy, I'm pretty much stuck to using a proxy from my house. I can access all other sites and other things freely, it's just Mario Party Legacy.

Therefore, I'm not going to be messing with the website or do new polls for a while until I can safely get on here again by normal means from my household. I'm aware that you would like new poll(s) already since we just got a bunch of new Mario Party 9 information, but I'm not taking the risk to screw things up while using a proxy.

I apologize for having you members to just about to start worrying/wondering why I haven't been on. If you wish to talk to me, PM me for a conversation because I cannot use the shout box (won't submit anything) or use the IM feature, provided that you are buddies with me.

Until then, the investigation is still ongoing and SZ is still looking into it. I'm hoping all this will be resolved as soon as possible, hopefully before mid to late February 2012 or before Mario Party 9 comes out. SuperZambezi just can't leave me, and without me, things would be...difficult for him when I'm not around on MPL. He has a site to run, and I'm second in command on the website. Hope to get this mystery solved soon so I can assist SZ with the website and fixing whatever there needs to fix.

I also just started to think something must be up, because I smell a conspiracy, whether or not it's true or false. What I think is, we had a little to no Mario Party 9 information when February 2012 started, then when Saturday, February 4, 2012 broke in my zone, someone or something got into the MPL servers and blocked my IP address, and the next thing you know, another blowout of Mario Party 9 information. This might be BS, but only God knows. Did Nintendo not want me to update the information? Did they not want us to know more about Mario Party 9 just yet? Heck, God knows.

All that aside, sorry for having you guys worry about me. I'm fine. I just need to find out (along with the assistance of my father and SZ) on how all this IP blocking me happened. Don't worry, I'm still active.

Thank you for your time in reading this long post.

Huh. And now I'm able to get in normally again! Yay!

Problems fixed, I suppose. A bit uneasy for just a bit longer, though.
Wait how'd it fix? Oh and yay!
I have no idea how. It's all a complete and complex mystery.
Horray for random fix-ups!
Hopefully you don't have this problem again!

I hope I don't have them again, too. Using a proxy to get in here was kind of annoying.

There's a possibility this is tied to people's 403 errors and then again it may not.

I should probably make a support topic @ the SMF Community

Edit - VIP says it's not only 403s. In that case it might be because of either server or host IP freeze blocking or something. Boy these are annyoing. =_=

I stickied and moved this topic out of my blog to this board, because literally, a lot of members, not just me, have been having this problem. I suppose it could be merged into Server Issues topic, but that's up to the staff.

Luigi Party apparently just had this problem, but was able to come on just now. Staff seem to believe that the SA Chat could be the problem that's blocking the members from accessing the site at all. It's unknown why such a thing would cause the site/forum to block members for no reason.

The reason is mass numbers of hits from an IP causes host to block said IP as a precaution against overloading. Whether it's b.c. of SA Chator not is being investigated

I didn't know you were a G-Mod and was allowed to move and sticky topics around the forum at will.

Anyways if it's still happening today then I guess SA Chat isn't the reason. I know this connection thing hasn't happened to me yet but then again I usually don't log on as much per day as some people.

Just an fyi if anyone ever gets locked out again try contacting a staff member so that we know that you're locked out. If you don't know how to contact anyone like myself or Staryu you can email SZ on the email that's under the contacts section on the main site (which is i think is sz (at) mariopartylegacy.com)
