I can do the first 3 parts easily. But once I get to the platform/lazer part, then I'm in trouble.

Indeed. The first 3 are easy.  The 4th isn't so hard when you have some clouds remaining. But the other two, oh man, I tried A LOT OF TIMES before I finally got the star.
