1)If you are in the throwback galaxy and you have only one life,you are doing the second mission,you go to the top with the cloud mario,now you can see an air platform far away,you go down and then you do 3 air jumps and you arrive there.You destroy all the goombas i think and 3 lifes appearing.You take ,em but you lose one.So,now you have 1+3-1=3 lifes.
2)When you battle the whomp king,when it falls down,climb up to him fast,walk near to his head and when it stand ups,in the correct time run and do a mini jump to his head.Now,jump inside to his crown.You go where he goes but don,t move because you will fall.Sometimes he shakes and he will throw you back so if you are over him and you see him shakes jump down of him.Tricky isn't it?
