Both of these characters are well designed. Sakuya has an outfit fitting for her occupation as a maid, while Youmu's phantom side is a nice way to show her ghostly attributes. In the end, this point goes to the character with the cooler weapon, and Youmu wins with a freaking katana!

Youmu can handle swords like they were nothing. While this is one fantastic trait, this point goes to Sakuya, because she can manipulate time, which is much stronger.

While both of these characters have resolved various incidents in Gensokyo, this point goes to Youmu, because she defeats Toyosatomimi no Miko, who strived for immortality of all things.

Youmu doesn't really have a personality to speak of. Sakuya is elegent, knowledgeable, and refined. In fact, her title is "The Perfect and Elegant Servant" of all things.

While both characters have remarkable danmaku in their battles in EoSD and PCB, this point goes to Sakuya, because she goes as far as breaking the fourth wall and mocks you if you choose to play on Easy.

The conclusion: Youmu is a good recurring character, but Sakuya keeps me interested longer with her numerous traits.
