This point goes to Marth, for his outfit is a lot more attractive to me than Komachi's, and the cape just adds more sign that Marth is a formidable opponent.

Even though Marth is an expert at using swords, this point goes to Komachi, because she has the ability to manipulate distance, something Marth would steal some spellcards to get.

Both of these characters have resolved incidents, but this point goes to Komachi, for she goes as far as defeating a freaking celestial that has ridiculously powerful attacks and can cause cataclysms.

Komachi doesn't really have a personality to speak of, other than being a total slacker. Marth is a levelheaded, wise, and compassionate character, placing other people's needs and his responsibilities with more priority than his own comfort.

While Komachi's danmaku is a sight to behold, she is held back by her laziness, while Marth does the job and leaves the place with a straight face.

Marth is motivated by his will to make sure other people get their concerns solved. Komachi, on the other hand, is a total lackey, doing things because Shikieiki bosses her around.

This came down to two games: Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Shadow Dragon. While SWR was good, this point goes to Shadow Dragon for having more depth in its various game styles.

The conclusion: Komachi is a good character in the Touhou series, but Marth has plenty more traits that make him an interesting character.
