This point obviously goes to Daiyousei, because she has a lot more design and a way cuter look, which is quite impressive for a midboss. Besides, wings look more attractive to me than parkas.

This point goes to the Ice Climbers, because Daiyousei has no spellcards whatsoever, and plus, the Ice Climbers can freeze you and have a powerful grab that can be comboed infinitely with the right timing. If you're grabbed by a professional Ice Climbers player, you're pretty much KO'd.

Category 3: Actions

This point goes to the Ice Climbers, because they climbed up and conquered mountains, while Daiyousei hasn't done much other than be merely a midboss.

Category 4: Personality

Does Daiyousei have a personality to speak of? Not really. She hasn't shown any form of reaction due to being a silent character. The Ice Climbers have a blood bond, meaning one would to protect the other even if it means risking one's life.

This point should be obvious, seeing as Daiyousei doesn't really show off anything while being bombarded by Reimu and Marisa, while the Ice Climbers take teamwork and show it off in overwhelming any player who makes the stupid mistake of allowing himself to be chaingrabbed.

Category 6: Motivations

The Ice Climbers are motivated by their will to explore the various mountains together, and to make sure they both make it through. Daiyousei, on the other hand, is simply "there," with no real motivations for her actions other than defending herself.

Category 7: Game Quality

This came down to two games: Ice Climber and Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. Ice Climber was OK, but EoSD clearly wins for having more depth in it.

The conclusion: Daiyousei is a decent character, but the Ice Climbers have more traits that bring me closer to them than the fairy.
