Jinx Judges a Pokemon: Day 59 (Chansey)

DAY 31: TYRANITAR
tumblr_nws0y8nd241s9ezb9o2_400.jpg

Tyranitar is a total force to be reckoned with. Being the Pokemon equivalent of Godzilla, this thing just looks as awesome. Not only that, but it has excellent battling capabilities, with a very high Attack stat. Its defenses are solid as well, especially in the sand, where its Special Defense gets a boost, and it has Sand Stream for that.

tumblr_nws0y8nd241s9ezb9o1_540.jpg

When Tyranitar undergoes Mega Evolution, it becomes even more dangerous, having an even tougher appearance. With Dragon Dance, Mega Tyranitar makes for a potent sweeper, being able to set up on a ton of stuff due to its increased defenses and speed, so some priority attacks miss out on KOing it.

Tyranitar: Armored and Savage.

DAY 32: ZAPDOS
tumblr_nwtx3erTnu1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Zapdos is my favorite of the legendary birds. This thunderbird has a very sharp design, which is fitting with its Electric type. In battle, Zapdos is quite bulky, and it has Pressure and Roost to drain the PP out of the opponent. Its offenses are also pretty good, making it a great way to take down common Flying-types.

Zapdos: Thunderbird.

DAY 33: HEATRAN
tumblr_nwvt1aPdSg1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Heatran is a tank, as its appearance suggests. With its typing, it's more than capable of dealing with threats like Talonflame, Ferrothorn, Serperior, and Sylveon. In battle, Heatran is able to perform a number of roles, such as a tank, a hard hitter with Choice Specs, an Air Balloon abuser, and many more. It's a shame how you're forced to run a Quiet nature just to use Eruption.

Heatran: Molten Tank.

DAY 34: HIPPOWDON
tumblr_nwxmdzqHAO1s9ezb9o1_540.jpg

Hippowdon is very bulky, and with Slack Off, it is more than capable of staying in the field. With moves like Stealth Rock and Whirlwind, it will constantly wear down opponents with passive damage. It also has the very useful Sand Stream, allowing it to cause even more damage. It can still hit hard with its decent offenses. This thing has always been one Pokemon that I would consider when making a sand team.

Hippowdon: Raging Sand.

DAY 35: BRELOOM
tumblr_nwzi18AbhJ1s9ezb9o1_500.jpg

Breloom is one Pokemon that just keeps getting better with each generation. In Gen 4, it got Poison Heal to set up Substitutes. In Gen 5, it got Technician, which boosts the power of Mach Punch and Bullet Seed. In Gen 6, Rock Tomb was buffed, allowing it to more reliably hit Flying-types. Its BST may be low, but its highest stat is Attack. Plus, it gets Spore, so everyone must be wary of being put to sleep when trying to switch into this thing. Also, I have a liking for its rather goofy appearance, being a kangaroo boxer.

Breloom: Powder n' Punch.

DAY 36: AMOONGUSS
tumblr_nx1j8bcrMH1s9ezb9o1_250.jpg

Amoonguss is one Pokemon that I like to use when I play in the lower tiers. With access to Spore and Regenerator, taking this thing down can be pretty difficult. It can even work in OU if you need a defensive Grass/Poison type and can't fit Mega Venusaur into your team due to already having a Mega. Where Amoonguss really shines, though, is doubles. This thing also gets Rage Powder, which can be very helpful, as it can save its partners from any attack that would otherwise KO them. Incoming Thunderbolt threatening to take out Charizard? Redirect it with Rage Powder! It's capable of dealing with even Trick Room teams due to its low Speed.

Amoonguss: Redirect n' Regenerate.

DAY 37: POLITOED
tumblr_nx3b9tkXtb1s9ezb9o1_500.jpg

Politoed was one of the most common Pokemon in Gen 5 due to its Hidden Ability Drizzle. This made weather very prominent. Then Gen 6 came along and nerfed weather, making it no longer permanent. As soon as this was found out, everyone abandoned ship, and now Politoed resides in PU. Since Drizzle is banned in all formats UU and below, Politoed is one of few Pokemon that performs better in OU than in PU, and it's still a very good rain supporter. Politoed can still hold its own if needed as it's able to use Perish Song, Scald, Encore, Toxic, and Hypnosis to cripple its foes. With Pokemon like Swampert, Kingdra, and Omastar able to take advantage of the rain with boosted speed, Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Mawile appreciating having their Fire weakness softened, and Electric types like Thundurus being able to use an accurate Thunder, rain is still a great weather.

Politoed: Make it Rain.

DAY 38: HERACROSS
tumblr_nx55n6s1cA1s9ezb9o1_540.jpg

Heracross has always been a tough Pokemon to deal with ever since Gen 2. Being the only Bug/Fighting, Heracross is one powerful Pokemon, due to getting Close Combat and Megahorn for STAB attacks, and status can't solve the problem, as it has Guts.

tumblr_nx55n6s1cA1s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

Mega Heracross is even tougher to deal with. Having gained Skill Link, it can now use Pin Missile, Bullet Seed, and Rock Blast, which allows it to hit hard and ignore any Substitutes, Focus Sashes, and Sturdy. There are very few Pokemon that can claim to switch into this thing, which just shows how much of a hard hitter it is. Plus, it's based on the Hercules beetle, the largest known rhinoceros beetle, and any rhinoceros beetle is a wonder to look at.

Heracross: Ram Through.

DAY 39: LUCARIO
tumblr_inline_ni7bmbZQc51rimwwa.jpg

Lucario has always been a fan favorite ever since Gen 4. Being the embodiment of aura, it is very unique among the rest. Also, I have to take credit for its appearance, being a Pokemon with a design with black and blue being great combinations. Lucario has always been great in the battlefield, being able to hit on both the physical and special spectrum.

tumblr_inline_ni7bji55jo1rimwwa.jpg

Mega Lucario takes power to the extreme, having gained Adaptability, meaning that its STABs will deal a ton of damage to anything in its way. Retaining the ability to hit both physically and specially, Mega Lucario is very unpredictable, and it's capable of taking down a number on the opponent's team before one could figure out what set it's running.

Lucario: Aura is Within.

DAY 40: SCIZOR
tumblr_nx8tjh0yKm1s9ezb9o2_500.jpg

Scizor is a Pokemon that just keeps getting more awesome throughout the generations. DP started making its appearance known by making it able to learn U-turn. When Platinum came about, it got what made it such a threat: Bullet Punch. Coupled with Technician, it is capable of putting some damage on anything faster than it. Not only that, but it got Superpower, meaning not even Heatran is safe switching into this thing. HGSS also gave it Bug Bite, enabling it to hit hard with both STABs. Despite introducing new Steel-types like Escavalier and Ferrothorn in Gen 5, Scizor still remains a threat.

tumblr_nx8tjh0yKm1s9ezb9o1_400.jpg

Mega Scizor gains boosts in power and bulk, and with Swords Dance, it can play a role of a bulky sweeper. Having its pincers become saw-toothed, this thing is something to watch out for. Not only that, but Knock Off was buffed, allowing it to stand a chance against foes that would normally wall it like Aegislash.

Scizor: Armored Mantis.

DAY 41: HYDREIGON
tumblr_nxanhds5gD1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Being Gen 5's psuedo-legendary, Hydreigon is one of my favorite Gen 5 dragons. Being based on Yamata no Orochi, this thing is very vicious. With moves like Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Earth Power, Surf, Flash Cannon, Stone Edge, Head Smash, U-turn, Superpower, Crunch, Earthquake, Outrage, Taunt, Reflect, and Roost, there's hardly any telling of what it's going to do. Also, with its evolutionary line being the only Dark/Dragon types, Hydreigon is a very unique Pokemon.

Hydreigon: Brutal Hydra.

DAY 42: CONKELDURR
tumblr_nxci4g9D4q1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Conkeldurr is Gen 5's take on Machamp, and I like this thing better than Machamp. With an excellent attack and solid bulk, it's one of the few Pokemon that can successfully utilize Assault Vest. Combined with Drain Punch, this thing will be difficult to wear down. As if that weren't enough, it also gets Bulk Up, making it more powerful. Plus it can use Knock Off.

Conkeldurr: Muscle and Endurance.

DAY 43: RAIKOU
tumblr_nxeoe3wgRP1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Raikou was the original tiger before Therian Landorus was introduced, and tigers are glorious to look at. Being one of the legendary beasts, its battling capabilities are excellent, having a high Special Attack and also being very fast. While its movepool isn't the best, Thunderbolt and Hidden Power Ice provide all the coverage you'll ever need, which can be further boosted by Calm Mind or Choice Specs.

Raikou: Johto's Thunder.

DAY 44: VOLCARONA
tumblr_nxgbwvHBd91s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Volcarona is one Pokemon that is quite a marvel to look at. After 4 generations of moths that aren't too great, this thing shows up and changes that trend. With its evolutionary line being the only Bug/Fire types, this thing is one unique Pokemon. With moves like Quiver Dance and its signature move Fiery Dance, Volcarona makes for a very threatening sweeper.

Volcarona: Eclipse Mothra.

DAY 45: EXCADRILL
tumblr_nxi08bLAmo1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Excadrill is one powerful Pokemon. With those blades on its hands and head, this thing is not to be messed with. It's able to take advantage of many different traits, such as being able to use Choice Scarf, Assault Vest, Life Orb, Focus Sash, and Air Balloon to great effect, as well as being a good Rapid Spin user. With Sand Rush, it's a very devastating sweeper, with its Speed shooting up to ridiculous levels, even outspeeding Speed Deoxys!

Excadrill: Mole Assault.

DAY 46: GARDEVOIR
tumblr_nxjv66TAVO1s9ezb9o1_500.jpg

Gardevoir is one of those Gen 3 Pokemon that I've been liking ever since its debut. Being the Embrace Pokemon, its appearance is one of the ones that stand out. Its high Special Attack allows it to take advantage of its many special moves. Not only that, but it got the Fairy type as well, enabling it to get past Dark-types that used to counter it. With moves like Taunt, Trick, and Destiny Bond, it can do more than just hit hard.

tumblr_nxjv66TAVO1s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

Mega Gardevoir is one of the biggest hole-punchers ever, having increased Special Attack along with Pixilate, which means that it can use Hyper Voice to deal a chunk of damage to anything that doesn't resist it. This thing will put the hurt, especially on Dragon-types.

Gardevoir: Emotional Tremor.

DAY 47: VENUSAUR
tumblr_nxlrtc4SQg1s9ezb9o1_540.jpg

Venusaur, the original Grass-type starter, has always been a fascinating Pokemon. Having moves like Synthesis, Leech Seed, and Sleep Powder, this thing can be difficult to wear down. In Gen 5, it also got Chlorophyll, and with the help of Ninetales, it can be a devastating sweeper. Its Poison typing got some more use in Gen 6, allowing it to deal with Fairies.

tumblr_nxlrtc4SQg1s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

With boosts in defenses and Thick Fat, Mega Venusaur is an even tougher wall to break. Pokemon like Mamoswine are no longer capable of dealing super effective damage, and its increased offenses allow it to deal considerable damage when needed.

Venusaur: Strange Flower Tank.

DAY 48: SLOWBRO
tumblr_nxnrbiwg6J1s9ezb9o1_540.jpg

Slowbro is a Gen 1 Psychic-type, and Gen 1 Psychic-types are beasts. Slowbro, in particular, is able to abuse this typing to set up Amnesia to be a very threatening sweeper while taking very little in return. Gen 4 gave it reliable recovery in Slack Off, while Gen 5 gave it Regenerator and Scald, enabling it to still make its name known even with other Pokemon to compete with it.

tumblr_nxnrbiwg6J1s9ezb9o2_400.jpg

Gen 6 gave a Mega Evolution to Slowbro, and beyond its odd appearance lies one of the sturdiest physical walls in the entire game. It gets Shell Armor as well, so once it starts setting up Calm Mind and Iron Defense, it'll be hard to take down without relying on Toxic or Taunt.

Slowbro: Bulky Boosting Relic.
