JetPac

DK Arcade isn't the only game you can play. JetPac is another game that you must play in order to complete the game. The game rewards you a Rareware Coin if you can get 5,000 points (and collect it yourself). But in order for you to play this game, you have to collect 15 Banana Medals as a prerequisite by Cranky Kong. It has a lot of levels, and each level has different asteroids.

This is a fine game, and you can play it all you want whenever in the menu or in Cranky's Lab. I like the idea of different asteroids, but some are tough. The good thing is, they net you points if you defeat them with your space gun. Sometimes, you would stay in the first level killing asteroids to get yourself to 5,000 points easily before moving on. Build your spaceship, bring in more fuel and other pointless collectibles to increase your score.

Discuss.

I sucked in this game when I was a little kid. I would never get past level one. I hated those asteroids. The last time I played it, I was actually good at it. I was able to complete it and get the Rareware Coin. For some reason, when I reached Gloomy Galleon, this was the first thing I would do. % medals from Jungle Japes, Angry Aztec and Frantic Factory, this makes sense, lol. I hated that level with the bubbles, I'm not sure if it was the hardest actually, but I had a hard time with it. I would always care about diamonds and stuff the first time, but the point is just to get the coin, then I could have fun trying to beat my score... :p

Well, in terms of going for 101%, I would go for it at the end of Frantic Factory, or the Training Area where you started the game between Frantic Factory and Gloomy Galleon.

The fireball asteroids are easy to handle, they don't pose much of a threat. The spiky eye asteroids are tough, as they move diagonally, bouncing off platforms and floors. The bubble asteroids are tricky, due to their size, but I don't have many problems with them. For the diamond asteroids that explode as they are following you, haha, that's funny, but tough. Some are pointless, they're just giving you free points. As for the higher levels, I'm not sure, but they're tough. I don't think I ever got past level 5 or 6.

Same here, I think I've only reached enough levels to get the coin. Lol those spiky eye asteroids, I would waste my time killing them.

I'm not sure if they give you the most points than any other asteroid I've encountered. I'm pretty sure the spiky eye asteroids give you 80 points each.

Rare's first game is simply enjoyable. Sure, the controls are slippery, but whatever. I just love dodging space shit.

I liked to just fly up to the top platforms and hold the B button.  I just collect things from there..  just easier for me.  c:
A lot of people do this on the first level since the asteroids are easy to deal with, as they only move in a straight line.
Haha, I did the same, it was an easy way to win. =P
But we had to move on, since it would be getting boring, and future levels had more point opportunities for different asteroids.

At least to get the Rareware Coin it's good. I do agree that it can get boring though.
