HEY GUYS IM LEAVING FOR 5 SECONDS

I am tired of those kinds of topics. Not only does it promote spamming and post pumping but they are just annoying to read. I propose that the Intro/Goodbye Board should change to strictly INTRO BOARD and that a general "Return Topic", in which members will post when they will be departing and returning, be in place. Does that sound more organized?

Plus, it just looks really child-like. But like I said, if we do away with the "Goodbye" part and instead have a general "Leaving/Returning" topic, then it will make the board seem more organized and welcoming.

Yeah, I agree. They are annoying. At the very least, post in your leaving topic when you get back, not an entire new topic.

This is just another reason why I never made more than four leaving topics (three were in 2009), and a vacation topic for one sole location. This proposition would definitely help lower the many topics being completely of no use.

The problem I see with posting in the original leaving topic when you return is they get bumped a few pages back in the history, which is really annoying to a) find and b) revive

a public topic would work better imo

I agree with HJ, make one massive Inro/Leaving Topic and prevent everyone from making new topics there.

And after reading this conversation, you have made clear points, I guess I could delete the Back topic I made...

A Leaving/Return thread sounds great, quite a few members here keeping making leaving topics saying "I'M LEAVING FOREVER~" or "I'm going to be gone for 2 days". If you're only going to be gone for a few days (like 2-3 days) there really is no need to make a topic about it, and if you're going to leave forever (I don't want anyone to leave forever), but don't just come in like 2 days, or say you're leaving yet you'll be on the whole time. Leaving means you won't be on the forum, it doesn't mean "I'll still be on once a day" or things like that, warnings should be handed out for those.

But yes, I agree with Aegis here.
