I don't like them, the stats have terrible handling and acceleration.

Handling isn't that important to me, but any acceleration is always welcome when you're racing online. If you have a kart with low acceleration and you're not first or second, you're basically stuffed. One wrong move and you can easily end up being last. The extra speed isn't even that beneficial and weight is useless on MK7.

Weight actually depends on how you're driving. Being heavy helps alot underwater but not while in glider mode.
Gold Parts are awful on Toad and other small characters who depend on their acceleration.
Their really only helpful for heavy characters who depend on speed.
The gold parts aren't really that useful, maybe except for Gold Glider. Stats for the gold parts are poor, I expected them to be a bit better. I got all of the gold parts by collecting coins.
Gold parts are rather terrible. Music Park, Waluigi Pinball, Mario Circuit 2, Airship Fortress, and Wario Shipyard basically mean bye bye 1st when using the gold parts. I tend to focus on handling, so I stay away from golds.
I only use the Gold Glider, which was rather time consuming to unlock. The Glider is just a flashy Super Glider which I don't mind. The other two parts I really dislike, they may have a good speed boost but I prefer Handling and acceleration in Mario Kart. They can be useful in Time Trials.
Some players online uses gold wheels to win races in my research of online play. It increases your speed on land, but terrible on handling and off-road, also your speed in underwater. The gold kart has the same thing as the tires. But the glider changes the design of the standard one, which means it has the same features as the standard.
...I still need a load of coins to get any of the parts...
I did get the Golden Wheels for getting at least a 1-star ranking on each cup, though.

By the way, no wonder why I'm not using the Golden Glider during online matches... I'm using the Standard during that time!
