The first course of Banana Cup in Mario Kart 8. Dry Dry Desert is a desert track that originally came from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! from Nintendo GameCube. The track is also based from the original Paper Mario, in Chapter 2: The Mystery of Dry Dry Ruins. It features many changes aside from the obvious graphics and music. It features falling pillars from Dry Dry Ruins, Koopa Statues, a Hammer Bro. Sphinx with a Wiggler headdress. The tornado has been removed and there is no longer the Big Piranha Plant in the quicksand - Lakitu pulls you out of the trap. The big central area before the end of the track is now an oasis. This track can also be played in battle mode.

This scorching and dry track is better than the original. The oasis was a great replacement, I don't know why it wasn't in the Mario Kart: Double Dash!! version. I feel like it's a bit harder to avoid Pokeys if you drive through under their bodies, for some reason.
