Thousand-Year Door. Its graphics were pretty good, and I liked the partners here. More than Paper Mario.

Thousand Year Door is the best game ever! Obviously it's my favorite PM.

I loved that game and your partners actually had HP unlike PM1 (or did they have HP? :-\)but anyway, the story was nice and the battles were OK but other than that I love that game.

Thousand Year Door was much better than Super Paper Mario by far. SPM had almost no definition of RPG what-so-ever. I also never played the first one.
No, if the partners got hit they couldn't act for a number of turns equal to the number of damage they took. But few moves hit your partners anyway so it didn't matter.Paper Peach said:
Back to subject matter though. I honestly liked all 3 games, even though I've never played PM1, I saw Chuggaaconroy's LP of it, and it looked good. Super Paper Mario is the black sheep of this series for now, but it'll still be fighting Paper Mario 1 for top spot. TTYD didn't bomb, but it's not too hard to beat if you know what you're doing.
I loved the original Paper Mario. I just liked the setting and the story. I haven't played Thousand-Year Door yet, and SPM wasn't anything as good and Paper Mario, so PM would be my favorite...so far.
Thousand Year Door was my favorite. It had the best graphics of all three of the games. A great storyline and amazing sidequests.
It was different then I was used to but it wasn't horrible. But, I had a wireless sensor bar (Vacuum got the original one) and I had to keep replacing the batteries for it.kineticsilvia563 said:

Ehh, I know Paper Mario: TTYD has a better overall battle system and mechanics but I find Paper Mario more engaging and fun. I can't play TTYD as long as the original for some reason. Super Paper Mario was simply decent.
SPM SUCKED. I only liked it for it's depth storyline.

As for my fave, it's always been TTYD. The graphics are sharper, storyline just as engrossing and partner system slightly tweaked, compared with PM.
Kudos also for the Pit of 100 Trials.

My personal favorites were 64 and TTYD. Super paper mario besides the second world was a complete step down to me.. Then again, it was on the Wii. 64 probably tops Thousand year door by a little bit in my opinion. Both were great games though
The first one wins by miles it had awesome chapters, places, partners, enimes, awesome music and bosses.
TTYD wasn't that fun, it had pretty terrible locations, enimes were annoying, bosses weren't interesting, terrible music.
