Classic Sonic

I've been in love with the classic Sonic games. I was very disappointed when they modernized his look and gave him a taller, skinnier figure...and made his eyes green. After Sonic 3 & Knuckles, that's when Sonic went downhill. The games just didn't bring that spark that the Genesis games had. If only they'd realize that they should go back to the 2D classic Sonic game style. Sonic 4 wasn't that good, mainly due to the physics and the lack of originality (the levels weren't that great imo).

Any other Classic Sonic fans out there?

Are you referring to Sonic 4 EpI or EpII? From what I've heard EpII was much better, never tried it though. EpI feels like a botched Sonic Advance game lol

Classic Sonic is the Sonic I'm most used to, specifically 3K. Couldn't get into 1 as much after playing 2 oddly enough.

Forgot to mention that. I was referring to I as I've yet to play II. And I agree with ya about Ep I. The only nice addition was the homing attack, but I still didn't like it that much.

Urgh Homing Attack was a nightmare, only good against bosses. Since I have the iOS version I have the mine cart and pinball levels instead of whatever they were changed to - minecart was cool but easy to do a no hit run >.> Pinball was weird, I thought I had to get 100000 points and not 10000 >.<

If any of you want to try something kinda cool, grab Sonic Classic Heroes. It's a ROM hack of Sonic 2 but has all three of S/T/K in-stage (one player controllable only unless you have the six button controller, then you can switch at will) in Sonic 1 and 2 levels. And there are 14 emeralds to collect (extra special stage in Sonic 1 stages). Uses Sonic 3 sprites though. =P Basically a 16-bit attempt at Sonic Heroes, without the flashy special moves - all moves are within 1/2/3K/CD limits.
