Challenge #2 Discussion

So we have to make a Mario Party...

I can handle some art so I just need some help with the creative part...

-Examples of minigames-----------------Maybe 30 minigames idk?
-Boards-------------------------------------I guess we just need a theme
-Spaces------------------------------------10-20 maybe...
-Rosters------------------------------------The traditionals plus maybe 2-3 newcomers
-Modes-------------------------------------This is probably the least important... we can do it last
-Hosts--------------------------------------THE SEASONS! If not we can fall back on Brighton and Twila
-Prizes--------------------------------------I guess kind of like the Star Bank and blah... That's not as important as well
-Story Mode-------------------------------Pretty low as well because this is a party game...
-Innovative Gamepad Use--------------Well we can have like a pass off idea passing around the gamepad for turns... I was thinking maybe gamepad
                                                        for orbs/items/traps the game pad could be like a hidden way to place those so they wouldnt show up on board
-Anything Else you can think of-------nope...
 
I'm copy pasting this from my Word document I had for Mario Party Eclipse lol
-Blue space: Gives you 3 coins when landed on, 9 in last 5 turns.

-Red space: Takes away 3 coins when landed on, 9 in last 5 turns.

-Happening Space: An event will happen. Some events will change depending what time of day it is…

-Duel space: A duel will happen between 2 players, who will play an interactive mini-game and prizes will be on the line.

-Miracle space: 2 players, at random, will be exchanging coins and/or stars. This can be a whole game changer…

-DK space: Only appears during the day. DK will do an event that will help the player.

-Bowser space: Only appears in the night. Bowser will do an event that will hinder the player.

-Character space: After a yellow orb has been set, that space becomes a character space. If the owner of the character space lands on this, they will gain 5 coins.

-Orb space: Passing here will give you a random orb. Does not count against your roll.

-Star space: You can buy the star, if you have enough money. Does not count against your roll, whether you buy it or not.

-Bubble space: Land on this Space, a mini-game triggers and the payouts are doubled! Only appears in the Day.

-Fireworks space: Land on this Space, a mini-game triggers where last place has to pay everyone else an equal amount of coins.

Mushroom orb: Allows you to roll 2 dice blocks. Getting 2 of the same number will get you bonus coins. Costs 5 coins.

Gold Mushroom orb: Allows you to roll 3 dice blocks. Getting 3 of the same number gives you bonus coins. Costs 10 or 15 coins during the day, 15 or 20 at night.

Metal Mushroom orb: Allows you to pass any roadblocks without being affected by them and will make them disappear. Costs 10 coins during the day, 15 at night.

Reverse Mushroom orb: Use on whoever you want, they will go in reverse that turn. Costs 15 coins during the day, 10 at night.

Bullet Bill orb: Use this, anyone you pass loses 20 coins. You can avoid roadblocks with this, but they will not disappear. You can choose which way you want to go with this, but you will bypass events (star, orb spaces, orb huts, etc.) Costs 15 coins, regardless what time of day it is.

Flutter orb: Brings you to the star. You still have to pay for it. Costs 30 coins, regardless what time of day it is.

Sluggish Shroom orb: Allows you to roll whatever you want from 1-10 on the same turn you use this. Costs 15 coins during the day, 10 coins at night.

Warp Pipe orb: Switch with a player of your choice. Costs 20 during the day, 15 at night.

Poison Mushroom orb: Anyone you choose will be poisoned. They can only roll 1-3 on their next turn. Costs 10 coins during the day, 5 coins at night.

Brighton orb: Summons Brighton to make the day phase go back to 3 turns. If used during the night, it’ll instantly go back to day. Costs 25 coins, can only be sold during the day.

Twila orb: Summons Twila to make the night phase go back to 3 turns. If used during the day, it’ll instantly go back to night. Costs 25 coins, can only be sold during the night.

Spiny orb: Whoever lands on this will lose 10 coins and will give them to the owner of this space. Costs 5 coins, regardless if it’s day or night.

Goomba orb: Whoever lands on this must pay either 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 coins to the owner of this space. Costs 10 coins during the day, 15 at night.

Mr. Blizzard orb: Whoever lands on this will lose all their orbs. They are not given to the owner of this space. Costs 10 coins, regardless if it’s day or
night.

Freezie orb: Whoever lands on this cannot move next turn. Costs 15 coins during the day, 10 at night.

Kamek orb: Whoever lands on this will have to give either 1, 2 or 3 of their character spaces to the owner of this orb. Costs 10 coins during the day, 15 at night.

Fly Guy orb: Whoever lands on this will be sent back to start. Costs 15 coins during the day, 10 at night.

Lakitu orb: Whoever lands on this will have an orb stolen and will be given to the owner. If the owner already has a full inventory, they will have to discard an orb. Costs 10 coins, regardless if it’s day or night.

Piranha Plant orb: Whoever lands on this will lose 1/2 of their coins and the owner will receive those coins. Costs 20 coins in the day, 15 at night.

Thwomp orb: Whoever passes this will stop moving, regardless how many spaces they had left. Costs 15 coins during the day, 10 at night.

Podoboo orb: Whoever passes this will lose 10 coins. Costs 5 coins, regardless if it’s day or night.

Zap orb: Whoever passes this will lose 5 coins per spaced passed. Costs 20 coins in the day, 15 at night.

Tweester orb: Whoever passes this will be sent to a random space. Costs 10 coins, regardless if it’s day or night.

Bob-Omb orb: Whoever passes this space will have their roll reduced by half. Costs 10 coins, regardless if it's day or night.

Boo-Away orb: If Pink Boo tries to steal from you, having this will protect you. Disappears after it’s been used. Costs 20 coins, regardless if it’s day or night.

Snack orb: On a board with Chain Chomps, if your opponent passes you while riding one, having this orb will prevent you from losing a star. Costs 15 coins in the day, 20 at night.
 
Oh my god Summer chores for the lose. Didn't have much time to work on this b/c of them...
So instead of doing Day & Night, we're doing Seasons, and there's 4 boards based on each season. That also means Brighton/Twila Orbs are gone, and that Orb prices will be the ones listed.

I have the Orbs done, and I'll post the Spaces and the effects tomorrow morning. Also, there's seasonal spaces, and 2 spaces are exclusive to each board. :p

Main Spaces are on the left, seasonal spaces on the right. Bubbles and Fireworks are now seasonal spaces for the summer themed board.

Main Spaces
1st Row: Blue, Red, Happening
2nd row: Miracle, Orb, Star (the latter 2 do NOT count against your roll)
3rd row: DK, Bowser, Duel

Winter Spaces
Snowflake Space: Landing on this space causes a harsh blizzard for a few turns and makes your rivals lose a few coins at the start of each turn. Landing on this again during the blizzard cancels it. Appears somewhat uncommonly.

Candy Cane Space: Landing on this will yank the Star Space to you and another person of your choice! After that, the Star moves to a new space like usual. Appears very uncommonly.

Spring Spaces
Flower Space: Next turn, you will get 3 coins for each space you pass! Appears uncommonly.

Bunny Space: The bunny will bring you a basket of goodies! Gives you coins, orbs and other pleasant surprises! Appears uncommonly.

Summer Spaces
Bubble Space: Triggers a mini-game where payouts are doubled. Appears commonly.

Fireworks: Triggers a mini-game where the loser has to pay the winners an equal amount of coins. Appears commonly.

Autumn Spaces
Leaf Space: Allows you to fly to ANY Space on the board. You can choose if the effects of the Space you fly to activate or not. Appears rarely.

Pumpkin Space: The mystical Pumpkin has a bunch of leaves covering the Spaces for a few turns... You won't know what some of the Spaces are until you land on them and they can change each time someone lands on it. Appears uncommonly.
