I just recently read NINTENDO HEROS Mario and the Incredible Rescue. Written by Tracy West. It all started when Princess Peach was in her garden. Then some ghosts, who came from Bowser's Castle, captured her. Fortunatly, There were guards all over. Unfortunatly, the ghosts were too strong for them. Toad comes running to Mario and Luigi and tell them exactly what happened. After that, they go on an adventure to find special mushrooms, defeat the ghosts, free the princess, and defeat Bowser.
