This was tossed around in the Skype Chat earlier about bringing back the yearly awards. Would people be interested in participating in these if they came to fruition?

Official Awards:

Super Star
-The member you believe has been, overall, the best asset to the forum and community.

Best Topic
-The topic created in the past 18 months which you believe is the most entertaining and/or interesting to read through.

Best Post
-The post created in the past 18 months which you believe is the most entertaining and/or interesting to read.

Rising Star
-The member who has joined in the past 18 months you believe has been the best asset to the forum and community.

Quality Star
-The member you believe has the most interesting, topical posts.

Shoutbox Star
-The member who makes themselves known in the shoutbox.

Gaming Star
-Member who possesses the best skill and sportsmanship in playing games.

Staff Star
-Staff member (Mod or Admin) who handles their position in the highest professional manner.

Humor Star
-The member who has the funniest posts.

Activity Star
-The member who contributes the most (via hosting or particpating in) to the Activities section of the forum.

Art Star
-The member who is the most skillful artist.

Writers Star
-The member who writes the most interesting fiction.

Blog Star
-The member who has the most entertaining blog.

Friendship Star
-The member who is the kindest towards other members.

Reminiscent Star
-The member who has not posted or visited the forum in the past 18 months you would like to see return.

Username Star
-The member with the most interesting username.

Veteran Star
-The member who has been on the forum for a minimum of 4 years you believe has been the best asset to the forum and community.

Most Likely To Work At McDonald's
Most Likely To Become President
Most Likely To Become Famous
Most Likely To Take Over The World
 
Judging by the poll I think people would be cool with awards.

Yeah, except I don't think it would be a good idea to have any negative awards. While it can be funny it's also kind of mean.

The way the older nominations worked was people submitted who they thought would best suit each award; and the top selection from those were put in the final poll. So for Topic of the Year, you'd PM the host whatever topics you thought were worthy of that award. There wasn't a limit to how much you could nominate for each award.

We also don't have to do them yearly either.

So we're doing awards and Insani can't stop us.

So I guess I'll lay down the ground rules right now for all the awards:

-You PM [me for now] whoever you want nominated for each specific award.
--You won't be limited to how many people you can nominate for each award.
--However, you can't nominate yourself.

Simple as that, really. If a ton of people get picked for a certain award it might be cut down to those who got multiple nominations.

IIRC Member of the Year was handled differently and on a point system, where you listed five members ranked and whoever got the most points won. If people are okay with doing it like that again, we'll do it.

I'll list of potential awards that might appear. I don't want 100 awards for every niche, though

Names are subject to change and restrictions will be placed on some of them (like best post/topic, if it should cut off in January or go all the way back to the beginning of 2014 when the last ceremony was held)
