2 vs 3 to me seems like pushing the team divisions a bit too far, it would have to be like 2 vs 2 but the larger team has to be ever so slightly disadvantaged which would be rather difficult to achieve the right balance.

It changes two 2vs2 like mario party 9 if you only have 4 players.

Yes, how about 2 v. 2 v. 1? Hm, how about that, that way it could be to teams of two trying to stop the one player. Because for one team to have an extra player would definitely just be an off type of game.

Well, with five players, it might work, but I don't think it would be fair. Unless, of course, 2-VS.-2-VS.-1 could work if the solo player uses the Wii U Game Pad.

It would make things imbalanced and unfair.  Keep with the four people playing idea.
