Skeleton keys/gates?
« on: November 21, 2016, 10:15:33 PM »
I never really played MP3 that much, so I'm not sure exactly how to use them and the guide is somewhat confusing. I'm trying to make locks work in my SMB3 World 1 board, but I'm having trouble with how to implement the gates and still have them work with what the guide says.
Itsa me, Mario Kirby! Bring it on!

So, I'm not sure as to what extent you know about the whole concept, so I'll explain from the start.

There is an item called the Skeleton Key that can be used to unlock Skeleton Doors, which lead to a different path. Typically these are shortcuts or may contain beneficial elements such as Boo.

It is highly recommended that the Skeleton Door is placed at the start of a branched path. If I can think of a parallel, it'd be the Whomps from MP7 and MP8.

Next, in the Board Editor, you need to place 3 blank spaces in the vicinity of where the Skeleton Door is. The middle one will have the Skeleton Door event tacked onto it.

I hope this helps?
