Video Game Bootlegs
« on: May 25, 2015, 10:05:10 PM »
Before I begin, if you don't know what a bootleg is, it's a game made for a video game system without it being licensed(aka unlicensed games)

Usually, bootlegs are made by Chinese companies, because well... I have no idea. Out of all the crap that has been produced, you can sometimes find a actually decent game or a game that's so bizarre it's good. But it doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't be cautious when getting into one of these games. For example: Pokemon Diamond for the GBC. It's a ripoff of a Japanese Only RPG game called Keitai Denjuu Telefang, and the english translation is terrible.

What are your opinions on these games? I personally think that even though the majority of them are bad, an OK one can appear every now and then.
Ancient trash.

If I could +1 to that post but unfortunately this is not the Wii-Homebrew forum

Moving on, a game called Donkey Kong 5: The journey of over time and space.

...Yeah. That's a thing. Bootlegs don't necessarily follow logic at all.

I once got a bootleg cartridge of the first NA Fire Emblem game for the GBA off eBay. I wasn't very happy to learn it was and never got my money back.  :mute:

I think I remember having some gba 'Pokemon Game' called Chaos Silver or something. Had some weird Lion as it's fire starter. Had some decent looking pokemon, but I remember not being able to finish it because of getting stuck in some cave.

I remember having this weird bootleg where apparently Sonic, Mario and the Ninja Turtles went to Acme University together. Bootlegs are like fanfiction in illegal game form.

I think I got a bootleg version of Super Mario World for the Gameboy , but I'm not sure if it is one because it was only hard to put inside the Gameboy and it didn't save progress .I got it at a Vietnamese flea market  :P
