I'm actually quite sad about this. Online is the sole reason I ever played Mario Kart Wii (it's what gives the replay-ability for me), and it's also my only source of practice for offline Brawl tournaments.

Yes, I know Brawl's wi-fi servers suck and it can get to the point where it goes like 3 frames a minute, but it's better than nothing. I can't go to the local Smashfests since they're rather far for me and my parents would not let me out. No one at my school plays Smash (and even then, NOWHERE near my level)... I'm really gonna miss Brawling with my friends and the online tourneys Kels will host. :/

I need to Brawl with you guys again (whether we play competitively or not) before the servers go down. =P

I kind of wish they'd do this like 1 year after Mario Kart 8/Smash 4 releases instead or something.

I never really play MKWii or SSBB online nowadays, but I do use Pokemon Black/White's Wi-Fi Room to chat with my friends while we use a 3DS at the same time to play games. :\

3 frames a minute.

Do you have any idea how awful that really would be. I threw a quick video together recorded at 3 frames per second[not minute], I'm sure the online isn't that bad.

It definitely gets 3 frames per second though. The last time I played (with Timmy and Staryu) it got to that point.

Well if it's that bad I wouldn't even be sad about it being taken down. :P

I'm not sad about it. :P But Mario Kart Wii has solid online play. That will be missed.

Also, this is a great way to get people to jump on board the Wii U and MK8. They didn't pick a week before the game releases for no reason. :P

No more custom tracks WW
Apparently they've been preparing for this for some time and are trying to make a new one... at least that's what I've heard.

It was cuz you had bad connection lol The time me and Timmy played with you, we'd never lag THAT BAD when playing with each other. Back then, our connections were very good when playing Brawl.

Only recently has there been more lag (not HJ lag), but lag nonetheless. :P

I'm not really fussed, I rarely played online and if I was it would've been Mario Kart Wii. I guess I'll be playing some Mario Kart online now.

Well, it's finally happened, a few hours ago. No more online gaming for Wii and DS games. It's time to move on to Nintendo Network for Wii U and 3DS now.

I'll miss playing Mario Kart Wii online. But I'll be playing Mario Kart 8 online soon so it's not that bad :-D.

Just in time for the new Mario Kart, I assume that's not a complete coincidence.
