Here's the tentative box-art:

I think it looks nice. The Nintendo Network logo raises suspicions, though. Might be the standard Miiverse functionality or possibly more than that.

Pretty sure the pretty much slap that Nintendo Network logo on most of their boxes now.

EDIT: Looked at all my boxes and seems that I'm wrong, since not all of them had it. :P

My guess is that it's probably for Miiverse, or leaderboards. I doubt that there is online play in this game. Can they even integrate Miiverse into 3DS games like they do for Wii U games?

I'm not sure. Probably not, in a sense that for Wii U games, you see all the posts pop up on your screen at times, but 3DS doesn't do that, so. So probably not actually integrated, but still can (manually) and post content. Content probably will not show up mid-game. So I think there may be something that's not just Miiverse capability. We probably have to wait and see. I don't think any major 3DS games have been released other than Kirby's Triple Deluxe for Japan since the Miiverse update for 3DS back in December 2013.

I've never played a "Yoshi's Island" game but this looks very good. I'll probably get it when it comes out!

Too bad that isn't the actual art style.

I agree.. There's not much new gameplay. Basically feels like just an graphic update to the original.

I retract my previous statements. This looks almost exactly like Yoshi's Island in terms of gameplay. I liked earlier Yoshi games, and it got me excited, but this just looks like a copy of the last one. I hope I am proven wrong, but this is just looking exactly like a copy.

Nintendo wants to surprise people for when they get it.
But of course, it's the wrong idea.

Either that it is what we have seen...

Well, there was an IGN article of which I read earlier today stating that this game is just not suited for older fans. For new players, it may be worth it, but all us old fans will not enjoy it as much. Only get it if you really want to play a Yoshi game or you got money to burn.

Or, you can just wait for Yarn Yoshi for Wii U.

Make sense from what I have seen. I've really liked the Yoshi series, but do I want to buy another one with such similar features.
