Capture Cards
« on: August 27, 2015, 10:16:24 AM »
Here is the place to discuss capture cards and other screen recording software and hardware. Whether the device is high quality, cheap, or both. (because I could really use a high quality capture for a cheap price.)

I have an Elgato Game Capture HD60 for my YouTube channel, and it works great. It's only like $130 so I would recommend that.

How come the videos on your channel are made with a regular camera?

Our old videos are, but any videos past "[50 Sub Special] Quality Quality!" use the Elgato.

I used a Dazzle DVC100 lol. It was really cheap and got the job done. Looked great for older systems too.

I'm using:
Elgato Game Capture HD ~ Wii U.
EasyCap ~ Wii, GameCube, N64.
Loopy's 3DS Capture Cards ~ Unhacked DS and 3DS Games (yes, "Cards", because I have one for Japan, and one for Europe).
Partner-CTR CAPTURE ~ Hacked DS and 3DS Games.

Isn't Partner-CTR what Nintendo uses?

I use the PEXHDCAP capture card. It goes right into your PC so you just plug in an HDMI or component/composite and you are good to go. Perfect quality, and older games look great on it as well. Only drawback is no 1080p30fps, but I'm not sure how many capture cards actually have this.

It is, or rather, was.
Nintendo uses something called "IS-SNAKE-BOX" instead, nowadays.
But I managed to buy one of those Partner-CTR ones from a bankrupt Company.
Since I no longer work for a Nindie, it became really difficult to buy any Current-Gen Dev Parts.

I have an EzCap capture card, but I recommend getting A/V splitters so you can plug it into your TV and the capture card because there's a one second delay if you're looking at it on the computer. I dunno if this happens with any other capture card, but it does with mine.

There's always a two or three second delay with mine. Doesn't really matter, unless you're looking on the computer for some reason.
