Title: Club Nintendo
Post by: SuperZambezi on December 09, 2011, 02:49:36 PM
Club Nintendo (for NA at least) will be adding Super Mario Kart (100 coins) and a Zelda: Skyward Sword 3-piece Poster Set (400 coins) to the store.

These are the two items I want so I logged into Club Nintendo today and did all the Post Play Surveys for the 26 games (16 of them were from games I registered back in 2009 :P). Then I registered some older games like TP, Galaxy (1), Mario Party 8. Got to 600 coins (Platinum status) and I still have a bunch of newer games (Galaxy 2, DKCR, Skyward Sword, 3DS games) to register that I will hold off on until the next Club Nintendo year.

So I'm set. :P How are you guys doing with your Club Nintendo?

I don't use Club Nintendo. I guess I should start doing so January 1, 2012.

I only have 150 points. I spent some coins a few months ago for the giant AR card. It's hard finding a place in the apartment to lay it on; Too much darn cat fur. =P

I bought Super Mario Kart and the Skyward Sword poster set! I've got around 100 more points so I might wait to do some post play surveys and get Fluidity.

Yeah, go for it. Mostly all the rewards that were there when it started back in 2008 are still there and now they have downloadable games. And you will have a ton of points from all the games that you have been collecting since '08.

Hmm, I probably should, then. I probably start doing so on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Or wait until Sunday, July 1, 2012? For the latter, that's when the new Club Nintendo year starts.

That would be better becuase I'm pretty sure the points expire on New Years. Save it for next year so you have a full year with the points.

I spent 150 yesterday for M vs. DK. Now that I think about it, the ambassador games probably have surveys attached to them. I'm going to go look...

I should check.

I got an email today letting me know my Zelda posters were shipped. This whole time I thought they were already being shipped and I should expect them sometime this week. :P

They also give you the code on the website as soon as you buy it. In big font. :P

Last week I got a replacement poster for one of the posters from the Skyward Sword set. The error was really unoticable and I didn't know about it until Nintendo themselves told me through an email. Now I've got two of the same poster. :D

1. Donkey Kong (Nintendo 3DS): 100 Coins

3. Kirby Super Star (Wii): 150 Coins

Also, another note. Starting Sunday, July 1, 2012, there will be changes in coin values for the games/systems/accessories/etc. from that point on.

I just joined Club Nintendo a few days ago. Got my free download of Kirby Super Star yesterday. :)

I can't wait to see what games will be chosen for next month. Those fans, and the messenger bag and tote bag look pretty cute too. I might have to give in and get one before next month's games are chosen.

Super Star's a SNES game, so you'd need Classic/Gamecube Control.

It was a Mario Pin Set. It had like 5 rows of pins with 8-Bit pictures of classic baddies, Mario forms, etc. and it could be arranged in to different pictures with the box itself.

Ya, you can. In fact, you can sometimes choose between 3 separate rewards (2 if you reach gold, which are also avaliable as the platinum award as well)
I'm just happy I saved my codes for this year instead.

Same, I was worried I might not get it too. =P

I didn't choose the Gold award last year cuz I could care less for a calender. It's not like I'm going to be walking around with pins, but I'd rather have that as a collectible then a calender I'll throw away within a few months. I really hope this year's gift will be something really good.

Those are crappy games for the month imo. Who doesn't already have Mario Tennis on their Wii, even on their N64? I keep waiting, month after month, for them to bring something good for the 3DS, I don't need anymore games on my Wii.

Platinum Prizes! (https://club.nintendo.com/elite-status-gifts.do)

Apparently it's a set of Mario playing cards, or games, or a set of posters.

I'm tired of Nintendo giving Gold members the crappy calendar because they're too tiny; I'd rather have it be the calendars that are hung on walls.

Anyway, they did better having the games as options. I decided to get Metroid II since I own the other games, excluding SMK. Next time, I'd like to see more flexibility with their prizes.

They should start having prizes like Japan has. It's not fair to be exempted.

Also, on another note, I just became Platinum by registering all of my available Wii games that were eligible. After the Post-Play Surveys next week, I should have about 670 coins by then and then stop for now until the next Club Nintendo Year.

Also, the Mario Posters Set is sold out now.

You have either until June or July to get Elite or Gold status, with Elite being the best. You then get a membership prize based on your status and the Club Nintendo year starts over. They can give away some pretty cool prizes. I just reached Platinum status.

Did anyone get Donkey Kong with Paper Mario? You know, the Club Nintendo Reward?
I have not. Probably going to miss it out. If I did, then I would be left with very little space remaining after downloading a retail game because I downloaded Pokédex 3D in November 2012, and that took over 3,300 blocks of space. Oh well.

Also, yeah, the Donkey Kong Original Edition will stop after Sunday, January 6, 2013. Not only that, but Mario Party 2 will go off as well.

Another thing to note, the Gold Nunchuk accessory has vanished from the Currently Unavailable section. No word on what this truly means. Might mean stopped production, or may soon be back up.

Well, this was a waste... it just re-appeared in the "Currently Unavailable" section... Did they plan to return it soon but then just decide not to?
...well, they've got within 3 weeks to re-release it still.

Hrmm... you guys think there will be any kind of accessories coming out soon for the WiiU?
I'm hoping for some kind-of case for the gamepad for when I'm not using it. :)

Oh dear, all repeats this time around, except one game.
I don't really care much about repeats, but they just repeated games that I already have (Birds & Beans being in Warioware and having Superstar Ultra).

The one game that isn't a repeat, unless I am mistaken, is Metal Torrent. Decided to actually try it out, seemed like an interesting game (haven't played many top-down shooters, or really any at all). So when I did try it out, I found out it was a bullet hell, which made me like the game a whole lot more. I never knew what it was like to play a bullet hell, and now I know. The game is really short though... you know if you can live. I love how there are only two difficulties: easy and insane. The differences between the ships is MAJOR, easy truly is easy and insane is... well like every bullet hell. In fact, I tried playing the game on easy without moving and just holding the shot button, I actually went through the entire game... until the final boss (since it had homing shots, which means you will always get hit standing still, so it was impossible). But playing through insane mode was really quite the experience, I swear I keep going back to it in hopes that I actually beat it for once, while still trying to get as much points as possible (in particular, the chain). The sound of collecting the points (in the form of cubes) is just so satisfying, especially combined the conversion of bullets to cubes, as well as enemies. But the game obviously isn't for everyone, and I'm not sure if it is really worth it, but it is decent enough so that I myself have a great time playing it despite never playing a top-down shooter before.

I also happened to snag it before they removed it. :P I also got Kirby Super Star as well, so I'm glad I was able to get it! Paper Mario, though I already have it for the N64... It was nice to get because my cartridge does not work as well as it used to, so if it does ever break, at least I have another copy of it on hand. And it's also nice to see how the Wii emulates it better. :P

Yes, definitely get the original. It's one of the best games out there for Nintendo 64. That game, you're free to do anything you want, can get any star you want, even if it's not the one by the hint. Some stars only appear if you select that specific star, though. It plays like Super Mario 64 DS, only that there are 30 less stars and Mario is the only character playable. Mario can also turn invisible and metal on his own, with the help of special caps. Yoshi still appears (non-playable), but only after collecting all the stars in the game. Luigi and Wario do not appear at all.

Unfortunately, I already have SMRPG on the Wii VC, so there is no point in getting this.

The other games don't even look that interesting enough for me to get them, either.
It's a good thing I didn't plan to get any more coins until the next Club Nintendo year! ;D

I also have Super Mario RPG on my Wii Virtual Console. I have no interest in the others, I'm saving up.

I won't be bothering getting any of these, either. I already have 3D Classics: Excitebike. Never played Super Mario RPG, but that will be later.

Not really interested at all. The only game I would get is Super Mario RPG but I already have it. Do you guys know if you can transfer it to your Wii U and play it through the Wii U channel. Can you also just buy it through the Wii U shop using the download code you would normally get.

At least I still have my Messenger Bag  :P

I am somewhat interested in Star Fox 64 for Virtual Console but I do not necessarily need it as I have the cartridge that works okay.

Unfortunately, I did not even make gold this Club Nintendo year, because I didn't get much games (I probably forgot to register Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon too, but I need to check that).

I hope it's something interesting, but if not, at least they let us pick an alternate of a Gold Reward or game.

Limited time offer! Club Nintendo is offering you $30 in Nintendo 3DS eShop credit if you register these two games by Saturday, August 31, 2013!

The two games are: Fire Emblem: Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV. If you already registered Fire Emblem: Awakening, you still qualify for the offer.

Shin Megami Tensei IV is released on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.

I already registered Fire Emblem Awakening, and I probably will not be buying that other game anytime soon, so I'll probably be going around asking everyone for a code of that game just so I can get the free $30. :P

...if anyone here is nice enough to provide a code for that game when it comes out, I'll gladly accept it. :P
or I can accept a trade if you want instead...

That is correct.

The Lost Levels must be from the original Wii or Wii Mode from Wii U. Balloon Fight can be from what I just mentioned in addition to Wii U eShop.

Still haven't gotten the posters yet.

Anyway, Club Nintendo is offering a Luigi's Mansion Figurine (https://club.nintendo.com/rewards-details/a/43502.do) for 1,500 coins! The offer is also available for Europeans, too, for 7,000 stars.

Club Nintendo in Japan has gotten a Year of Luigi makeover.

Also, the Nintendo 3DS Pouch for Mario and Luigi Editions are back in stock, for 500 coins each! The Yoshi Cleaning Cloth is also back in stock for 400 coins!

The Luigi's Mansion Figurine looks too small to be worth that much. :P

However, with that Luigi Pouch back in, I'm going to need to start earning some coins again before it all goes away.

The Luigi's Mansion Figurine looks really cool if you ask me, but I don't have anything close to 1,500 coins. I hope to save up enough coins for one of the Mario Brothers 3DS pouches. This is the first time I've heard of the Yoshi Cleaning Cloth for some reason... I will most likely go for that instead If I can't get a 3DS pouch as I've been waiting for something heavily Yoshi related from Club Nintendo. I like the description for it.

I already have Super Mario World on my Wii U, and I still have a working copy of Mario Golf 64, so no need for those. Not sure for the 3DS offerings.

The Yoshi's New Island T-Shirt is now sold out, but Club Nintendo messed up on the sizes they gave out:

The last few Club Nintendo surveys I've taken show various signs of uniqueness and individuality, which is a nice touch since Nintendo releases lots of different types of games. Here are some paraphrased examples:

Tomodachi Life (Post-play Survey)-Who are your islanders inspired by?

Hyrule Warriors (Plan-to-Purchase)-Have you played a game in the Zelda series? Have you played a game in the Dynasty Warriors series?

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS (Plan-to-Purchase)-When was the last time you played a game in the Super Smash Bros. series?
