Title: Current State of MP Hacking
Post by: SuperZambezi on February 13, 2015, 02:15:28 AM
What's the current state of Mario Party hacking? What has been accomplished so far? What's possible? Has anyone created any tools or easy to use guides? What's the next step?

I haven't tried to hack any of the MP games, so I can't give any input. :-\

Mario Party 9 only requires Brawlbox v.70.
Any NPC can be easily added without rigging, but may need some fill in for missing animations.

I can easily dump textures and modify them in Mario Party 1, 2, and 3. I don't know how to do the rest of them but I'm sure I can manage them. If we get to do custom spaces though and swap code for spaces!

I saw on your Twitter that you got DK and Birdo playable on a board map in Mario Party 6. What was stopping you from doing it before? How did you fix it?

SuperZambezi, Characters from Mario Party 7 and 8 would freeze the game due to their motion file size, and the Birdo you're looking at is only the model over Yoshi, and Yoshi's animations from MP6. DK will freeze in some mini games, but works fine on the boards.
