Title: Mario Kart Wii Custom Tracks: Wiimmfi
Post by: Bowser498 on May 12, 2015, 12:25:11 PM
So, I bet you've all heard of Custom Tracks made by MrBean35000VR and Chadderz. I got them two days ago, and I am LOVING them!
What are your thoughts? And also, the one year anniversary of Wiimmfi, the custom server, is coming soon! :)
If you don't know how to get MKWii Custom Tracks, follow this guide:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
LetterBomb Website: http://please.hackmii.com/ (http://please.hackmii.com/)
CTGP Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzP93HviBIt9MGNTZjc1ZlgyUGM/edit (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzP93HviBIt9MGNTZjc1ZlgyUGM/edit)
And if you want to download the homebrew channel in order to get the CTGPR channel, follow these steps:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
And I know this isn't Mario Party, but it IS hacking. ;)

You spelled Wiimmfi wrong...

Also, want to exchange FC's? mine is 1509-2395-5212.
Bowser498: Sure, I'll do it tomorrow. :)
(I don't know why I quoted that lol)

Really?
Newer doesn't take up that much space? :P

How big are they? I've got Newer and CTGP on my 8 gigabyte sd card along with a s***load of homebrews.

Is it possible to get these on a USB Flashdrive?

Well , I'm pretty sure you can put it on a flashdrive , but you can't put it in a Wii . I also have a 8 GB SD card , but it says there isn't room . I'll try again later , though .

I don't think so. You'll have to extract folders in the SD card; there should be a special compartment in your computer for it.
Besides, flashdrives don't fit in Wiis. :P

Great. I really wanted to try these tracks out.  :(

Oh well, I wasn't that big of a fan of Mario Kart Wii.

Well actually, you can load it from a flash drive is you've got the homebrew channel installed.(I know for a fact that the wii has two usb slots on the back.) You just have to put the mod on the flashdrive(duh?) and press 1 or 2 and switch it to "Internal USB Drive." it will appear, and then you can load it up.

What if you only have Riivolution ? Also what do you mean by pressing 1 or 2 to switch it to an Internal USB Drive ? I really liked MKWii , and I really want to get these tracks .

If you only have Riivolution, then you will need an SD card.(Preferably in SDHC format)  Also, what I mean by 1 or 2 is on the Wii Mote, there's buttons called "1" and "2."

2GB still works.
(Shouldn't take up a lot of space, but try anyway! :D)

The Wii recognizes SD cards in SDHC format, so you could get one that has more than 2GB(any sd card that is above 2gb that isn't in the sdhc format will not work.)

OK, might give it a try then.   ;D

Will probably install Homebrew while I'm at it. (If there's enough storage left)

Just a little rant about it.. Because im REALLY unhappy about something!
First, they take of Strobenz Desert who was an AWESOME track in my opinion and truly a really unique map :(
But in the last update, not only they take of Magnetic City who was pretty good...
They also take of Yoshi Mountain!! Why?!  >:(
It has even been updated recently!!! I totally don't understand  ???
Anyway i needed to talk about that, sometimes, the tracks they pick to erase are not the worst one and that's sad..

I miss Mario Kart Wii so much. It was so much fun in every way and custom tracks were just the icing on top of the cake. I just watched a MKWii custom track race and it hyped me up so much.

And then I watched a MK8 video...

I totally agree.. Personally, what i love the most in MKWII is the item system!
In MK8 they... did a bad thing for the item system,it's just unbalanced to me  :(

But seriously, we need a MKWii CTGP CN! That would be awesome! ;)

That depends because the last time we did that no one showed up.

Plus my Wii isn't on me atm - I've left it elsewhere and there's no way I'm modding my WiiU atm. :P
(actually I'll be able to get it this weekend because it's in the place where I go to ski. :P)

I got it all set up and ready to go - but apparently I have to wait 7 days before I can be activated for online play.

CN with this would be fun, but we need to know that a decent amount of people can and will play!

I think that's because people were too scared to get banned online. Which nobody ever did. Watch them still be scared.

I think it is possible for a CN community night to be based on MK Wii custom tracks again but interest in CN in general has seen an all-time low; something needs to be done to spark up people's interest. I think one of the main reasons for this is because the less casual people were interested, the less the active people were interested as fewer showed up and it was a down-hill slope from there. For anyone interested they all would need to play an active role in making sure that they spread the message avidly that they WILL participate, and that it will be a fun and awesome night that no-shows will regret missing. Otherwise we'd witness yet another flop.

Let us reunite MPL in enjoying fun large-room filled games like we used to.

Wtf? God dammit! No!!!!! ;.;

I could reinstall it but I'm too lazy.
*Bumps topic for custom track awareness.*

My 7 day activation ended yesterday and I played yesterday. It's a lot of fun! Only issue is that some of these custom tracks are way too long. I say if one lap goes over one minute, it's too long.

I personally don't think so. But, if there are too many long tracks we could just play normal MKW online.

Well, it depends. If it were a 2-lap track, that would be different than a 3-lap track with 1-2 min per lap. I say a track is too long if you can't finish all laps in less than 4 minutes.

I've been playing some more CTGP and I love that they've been adding more 3DS tracks. Does anyone know why they won't use the actual names for the 3DS ones? They do for all the other retro tracks.

I've read somewhere a long time ago that it has something to do with the 3DS track names being copyrighted. I might be wrong because I don't remember exactly.

It might be the European names of the tracks.
Name changes:

US - EU
Cheep Cheep Lagoon - Cheep Cheep Cape
Wuhu Loop - Wuhu Island Loop
Music Park - Melody Motorway
Rock Rock Mountain - Alpine Pass
Piranha Plant Slide - Piranha Plant Pipeway
Wario Shipyard - Wario's Galleon
Neo Bowser City - Koopa City
Make Wuhu -  Wuhu Mountain Loop

The rest are the same so i dont think its because of that :ssb4pacman:

Dunno if you guys heard about it but there's a brand new update who finally makes the Time Trials option available with unlockable Ghost Staff!
Not only that but there's a contest to get a Wii. If you beat at least 20 Expert Staff Ghosts, you can participate!
And since we can upload our ghosts in a server, I had the idea to share our ghosts here, can we?
http://chadsoft.co.uk/time-trials/players/C4/B5E5BE636C8C78.html Here are mines! I'm not that good and I only use the kart but I've already beaten two of the Expert Staff Ghost!

... I did not expect to bring Mario Kart Wii to this place.
Jokes aside, I see that people are still enjoying some Mario Kart Wii and CTGP-R here. Now let's see how long it takes until my custom track gets removed out of the pack. :P
As for the different 3DS track names, it is - indeed - to prevent copyright shenanigans from Nintendo. Even if at least half of them in the pack of now aren't even actual ports from Mario Kart 7, it's still the best to not let Nintendo pay attention to it.
As for staff ghosts in Time Trials, I wonder how many people have beaten my staff ghosts here. Mine is CTGP*Wing. Hopefully they weren't so hard (compared to some other staff ghosts :what: ).

Also, this is an attempt of bumping the topic to make it somewhat more active, out of curiosity. If no one responds, then I see where this is going. :-D
