Title: Rotating Control Stick Minigames
Post by: Milla Maxwell on October 04, 2009, 08:38:20 PM
I hated them!Nintendo had to give away gloves with the game due to people hurting themselves.

These games were certainly annoying. Combined with the C-Stick which Cranky Kong said was broken :P (DK64 instruction booklet), these games were a big pain to beat tougher CPUs and get new records.

I hated those, too. I once got a blister, trying to win a certain mini-game. Thankfully, it stopped after Mario Party.

If it would have used the GC's control stick it would have been easier and less pain.

I hated  them. It would have been better if used in 1 minigame and if it was a Gamecube controller.

I don't know actually. They were quite annoying. They hurt sometimes. So I probably hate it overall... But I voted I don't know.

They are annoying and hard. I don't really think too many of the mini-games will be good for my controller.

The good thing about these mini-games that they stopped after the first Mario Party. Since then, there were no mini-games that involved the use of the Control Stick.

The N64 controller was the main problem.

If Nintendo re-released MP1 on Virtual Console, they should at least program the joystick to make the games easy so that we don't get blisters.

I hated the minigames with the rotating stick. That really gave blisters to my hand. The old controllers couldn't take much of it either, without the stick wearing out.

Aw...  Almost everyone seems to hate it.  I hope no one used their thumbs for it.

Just use the palm of your hand.  Sure it might hurt after a while but that's a sacrifice you must be willing to make.

Don't be sissies.  =P

And sure, wear gloves, if it's that bad.

And if you're ready to go "We're not crazy game maniacs!  We actually have lives!", just don't.  We all know everything pretty well...

Get some gloves and beat some high scores.  Go do it.  =P

I hate these games cause on computers its impossible to play them. :P And just out of random chance the Tug-O-War game comes once every 5 turns it feels like. And Bowser makes you play Tug-o-War. I've lost too much coins to it. :-\

Seconding this. That, and the 1P game where you have to light up the bulb before the Boo gets you :P

On an unrelated note, watch out for references to emulation :P

I actually broke 3 N64 Controllers because of it. That's when I started hating Mario Party. :P

The developers could have replaced rotating the joystick with tapping buttons in MP1 just like in MP2.
