Mario & Luigi: Dimensional Shift (Mario Crossover Fangame)
« on: July 29, 2017, 08:43:38 PM »
Hello everyone and welcome to the Mario & Luigi Dimensional Shift topic (the first topic in this sub forum in almost a year o.0)!
This fan game is a RPG in the style of the Mario & Luigi games, but the Mario Bros travel to different game worlds (or, dimensions) and gather a team to defeat the evil that's causing strange space-time rips, and causing chaos within the dimensions...

The thing that really makes this game special (at least from a gameplay standpoint) is that your team is HUGE, and has a variety of attacks at their disposal. Aside from allowing the Mario Bros to travel through various dimensions, the space time rips also cause some... new characters to show up. And when I say new characters, I mean (takes deep breath) OCs... and I allow submissions. BUT! Here's the catch, it has to go through me... I'll explain what the characters have to go through before they make the cut.

If you want to see who's confirmed and some basic stats for them, check this link out - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ldl3BIwqOWymOrbFXlwSbahPkXxBoLBw77HK3Ssixtk/edit?usp=sharing

If you want to submit a character, use this link! - https://goo.gl/forms/zSyEKHKSUEc6eFf22

If you're interested, I also have a Discord server for this project - https://discord.gg/S8bjhHw

...and a GameJolt page... https://gamejolt.com/games/dimensionalshiftfangame/282184

And no. I don't have any screenshots as of yet, because the game is still very early in development. When I have something to show, I'll show it!

Anyways, that's pretty much everything I wanted to say... have fun!

1) Thanks!
2) I'm not entirely sure, we're still in the concept/graphics phase of development at the moment
And we're looking for something good to make it in.

Cool, do you have a team, or just you? Also, do you have any experience with programming? If you're a beginner (as I am), I know YoYo Games' gamemaker is one of the easier things to use, but it's relatively weak compared to other things such as Unity 3D. Unity is also a good option, as it has yielded countless successful commercial games, while Gamemaker has only yielded a few notable ones, such as Undertale.

I have a team (to some extent), and a little bit of experience in programming. However, I've never done something as big as this, so I'm likely gonna use something different than what I've been using.

Good luck! I'd help but I have almost no experience in programming. :-\

Thanks! And it's OK, I've got some help.

On a side note, I've added a character submission form to the OP.
