WARNING: Please do not overwrite this board over Woody Woods. There is existing base game code that will cause a specific board event to misbehave. The board will still work, but the experience will not be authentic. It is recommended to overwrite over Chilly Waters.

"Welcome to Towering Treetop! On this board, Stars cost 20 coins. Get to the Star Space to buy one! As soon as someone gets the Star from the Star Space, it'll move somewhere else on the board. Use items to get an edge over your rivals, and watch out for special (?) spaces!"

This board is an adaptation of Mario Party 6's Towering Treetop board for Mario Party 3. The functionality of the board's events and mechanics are very close to what they are on Mario Party 6, although some events were slightly adjusted for balance or creativity purposes. Without further ado, here's a list of the events and mechanics that you will/won't find on this board.

The effects of Happening Spaces, Board Events, and other mechanics will be explained below, if you'd like to go into the board blind, please ignore the spoiler tagged area.

Like in the original Towering Treetop for Mario Party 6, some events on this board have differences depending on the time of day. Additionally, some space types are only available during day, or night. The graphic icons at the top indicate how many turns are left of day/night.

Happening Spaces:
  • Fluff Airlines: During daytime, for 10 coins, the landing player will be able to choose to go to 1 of the 4 Fluff Destinations on the board. During nighttime, the landing player must choose a colored Fluff that will take them to 1 of the 4 Fluff Destinations at random. This is not optional, and costs 5 coins. The Red Fluff favors going west, Blue favors going north or south, and the Yellow Fluff favors going east.
  • Bees: The landing player will lose 5 coins, or 20% of their coins, whichever is greater.
  • Woody's Sneeze: The landing player will be prompted to tickle Woody's nose to make him sneeze. For every A press made within the allotted time, the chance of Woody sneezing will increase. If Woody sneezes, other players who are on the higher parts of the board will fall down. If the player declines or Woody doesn't sneeze, nothing happens.
  • Woody/Warukio: If you visit Woody, he gives 5-15 coins to all players. If you visit Warukio, he takes 5-15 coins from all players.

Passing Events:
  • The Pink and Purple Flower alternate paths during daytime and nighttime. If the player has a Skeleton Key, they can use it to open/close the Flower.
  • Item Shops: During daytime, it's always Toad's shop. During nighttime, it's always Baby Bowser's shop. The Cellular Shopper is unaffected by this.
  • Boo is only available to visit during nighttime. The Boo Bell is unaffected by time of day.

Space Types:
  • During daytime, some spaces are Item Spaces, and during nighttime they become Item Pickup Spaces, which will grant the player a random item upon passing.
  • During daytime, some spaces are Game Guy Spaces, and during nighttime they become Chance Time Spaces.
  • During daytime, some spaces will be Duel Spaces, where players will be able to wage coins or stars. During nighttime, they become Battle Spaces.
  • During daytime, some spaces are Tumble Spaces, which will trigger Tumble Bonus, or Tumble Giveaway. Tumble Bonus gives the landing player an amount of coins, or a star. Tumble Giveaway gives all players an amount of coins. During nighttime, they become Bowser Spaces.

Last 5 Turns:
The player in 4th Place will receive 1 of the following 2 bonuses:
  • Coin Bonus: 30 Coins / 40 Coins
  • Character Space Bonus: 5 Spaces will be given to the player. These spaces will become larger to be easily identifiable. If they land on these spaces, they will receive 10 coins (total). If a rival passes by these spaces, there's a 20% chance a Thwomp will stop them in their tracks. Wearing a Bowser Suit will prevent the Thwomp from stopping your movement. Additionally, if a rival is landing (naturally) on these spaces, 1 of the 3 following effects will be applied:
    • Give 10 coins to the space owner.
    • Give 5, 10, 15, or 20 coins to the space owner.
    • Turn 1 random Blue Space into a Character Space. (Max. 12)

Item Bonus Star:
The player that used the most items during board play will receive this Bonus Star on the last turn. Tossing Skeleton Keys, as well as using them on a flower will count towards this bonus. Tossing a Boo Repellant will also count, as well as its automatic use when targeted by Boo. If a Wacky Watch is going to take effect on the last turn, the event will not happen.

v3.0 patch notes:
  • The Bee event now has a minimum of 5 coins it can take.
  • Animation/sfx added to Woody/Warukio event.
  • Bank Space added.
  • The Item Shop's Shopkeeper now varies based on time of day.
  • Skeleton Keys may now be used to open/close the pink/purple flower.
  • Item Pickup tables adjusted.
  • Duel Spaces now allow putting stars at stake.
  • Last 5 Turns event added.
  • Custom Bonus Star added.
  • Custom music added.
  • Artwork updated to add visual indicators to Fluff event, Custom Bonus Ceremony, the ability to use Skeleton Keys on pink/purple flower, and Koopa Bank. Version number added to the START area.
  • Graphic indicator of time of day added.
  • 3 Red Spaces have been removed from the board, as the number of 1v3/2v2 Minigames was too high.
  • [BUGFIX] Being unable to set players as CPUs or vice versa is no longer an issue. As the message for displaying time of day has been replaced with a graphic.
  • [BUGFIX] For the same reason as above, the time of day graphic does not share the issue of going away when something takes the game away from board play.
  • [BUGFIX] The pink/purple flower will now remove the player's remaining roll from the screen when they have 1 space remaining upon use. It will no longer display 0.
  • [BUGFIX] Selecting "View Map" during Boo will no longer cause crashes.
Known bugs/glitches:
  • None as of now.

Final Words: Please report any bugs or glitches you find to me. You can find me on Discord as Airsolan on the Mario Party Legacy server, or the Mario Party Netplay server. This board is likely finished and will not receive more updates.

A good time! Faithful adaptation of the MP6 board. Reverse Mushrooms can be used to collect two items in the nighttime sections because of the spots that force forward movement, but that doesn't seem like a bad thing to me.
